Your mission

Wise has already pioneered new ways for people to transfer money across borders and currencies. Our customers can also manage their hard-earned money with the world’s first platform to offer true multi-currency banking. Your mission is to transform how we deliver our customer support experience to build a globally scalable and cost-effective model for our future.

The role is a unique opportunity to join one of the fastest growing companies in Europe. With over 15 million happy customers we’re already moving more than £9 billion a month and have more than 2,500 people in our operations functions across the US, Estonia, Hungary and Singapore and 800 in Product and engineering. We serve a wide range of customers from personal users, freelancers, small businesses to enterprise businesses and banks.

You will be one of the first members of the newly set-up function that creates a bridge between Product and Engineering and Operations teams. This new function sits in our Business Operations organisation and will be responsible for running large scale transformational projects that impact multiple functions in our servicing organisation.


Here’s how you’ll do:

  • Define the top cross operational initiatives and secure executive sponsorship to execute them 

  • Create governance and drive project execution of large-scale multidimensional projects across our servicing product and operations teams. 

  • Define the blueprint and strategy of the programme management and build up the team of programme managers 

  • Run side by side sessions with Ops agents and go through cases and customer contacts to find insights, and build business cases for both product and operational solutions accordingly

  • You’ll be working closely with partners at Operations teams across Customer Support, KYC, FinCrime and Payment Operations. You’ll be driving automation, process improvements and outsourcing projects.

  • You’ll clearly define success and evaluate progress with both qualitative and quantitative methods.

Qualifications

A bit about you: 

  • 6+ years of project or programme management

  • Proven track record managing complex, multi-phase projects using Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies. Program Delivery: Expertise in managing complex, multi-phase projects using Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies.

  • Alternatively, you’ve built products at scale. You’ve worked on products with thousands or even millions of users, navigating the complexity of both product and organisation.

  • You can influence people without authority 

  • Skilled in creating high-quality project plans, breaking down tasks, mapping dependencies, and identifying the critical path to launch.

  • You’re hands-on.You excel as a player-coach, switching effortlessly between being an individual contributor and leading a wider team. Whether it’s diving deep into data analysis, design, or regulations, you have a superpower as an individual contributor.

  • Governance & Risk Management: Proven ability to manage risks and ensure project governance.

  • Compliance: Focus on achieving results while adhering to regulatory requirements.

  • Expertise in resolving challenges, making impactful decisions, and acting autonomously.

  • Decision Making & Problem Solving: Strong decision-making skills and expertise in overcoming complex challenges.

  • You’re data-driven. You know how to gather and interpret data to identify opportunities and measure impact. You can inspire others by telling compelling stories with data.

  • You bring fresh ideas. You question the status quo and love solving problems creatively. You’re able to communicate the impact of your ideas and formulate actionable plans to bring them to life.
