Role Purpose

Are you passionate about digital products that make a difference? At Switch2, we’re on a mission to transform how our customers, clients, and colleagues interact with Heat Networks.

As a Product Owner, you’ll be working closely with the business and engineering team to design, deliver, and iterate on products that are technically robust and closely aligned with user needs and business goals.

This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is excited by the challenge of turning complex requirements into elegant, scalable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Requirements Documentation
Write clear user stories and acceptance criteria that guide the engineer team.
  • Collaboration
Collaborate daily with the engineering team, answering questions and making decisions to maintain momentum. Engage with customers, users and stakeholders to gather requirements and validate solutions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
Act as the go-to product expert and liaison between business teams, engineering teams, and external vendors. You'll manage competing priorities, track changes, facilitate alignment, and ensure everyone is clear on release timelines and expectations.
  • Product Road mapping
Communicate the product vision and roadmap, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Business Case development

Lead the development of business cases for new products and services, working with stakeholders to define             expected benefits, establish ROI targets, and monitor actual performance against projections

  • Backlog Management
Manage and prioritise the product backlog, making trade-off decisions based on user value, business impact and technical feasibility.
  • Continuous Improvement
Support ongoing product evolution by helping teams navigate change, monitoring performance against key metrics (customer satisfaction, adoption rates, system performance), and planning thoughtful transitions from legacy systems to future-state solutions.
  • Agile Framework

Facilitating and taking part in Agile ceremonies such as stand-ups and estimation sessions. Applying

prioritisation techniques when considering product backlog, new features and what the next best thing is.

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical audiences, with the ability to influence without authority
  • Demonstrable commercial thinking including development costing, product budgeting, and monitoring ROI performance against projections.
  • Exceptional communication skills, you can translate technical complexity into clear narratives for stakeholders, and business requirements into clear specifications for engineering teams
  • Deep understanding of customer service practices and solutions
  • Strong empathy for customer and client needs, with a user-centred mindset
  • Full software implementation lifecycle experience, from discovery through launch and iteration
  • Highly organised and detail-oriented, with a structured approach to delivery
  • Data-driven mindset with ability to define metrics, analyse performance, and make evidence-based decisions
  • Ability to balance multiple projects and priorities with confidence and clarity

Why Join Us?
