Position Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Product Owner to play a critical role in the evolution of BMLL’s data and analytics platform. This role blends product ownership, strategic prioritization, and deep analytical rigor, and is ideal for someone who is equally comfortable defining what should be built and diving into how it must work.


You will sit at the intersection of engineering, financial data, and commercial teams, translating customer and business needs into clear, actionable product requirements. You will own the backlog for BMLL’s Data Lab and Vantage products, ensuring that development efforts are aligned with BMLL’s strategic goals and deliver maximum value to customers.


Responsibilities:


●      Own and manage the product backlog, including prioritization working with stakeholders, refinement, and acceptance of user stories

●      Act as a domain expert for your product area, deeply understanding APIs, application workflows and client use cases

●      Translate complex client requirements into clear, technically precise product requirements, epics and user stories

●      Partner closely with engineering and data teams on clarifying requirements; architecture decisions, technical trade-offs, edge cases, dependencies and delivery planning.

●      Collaborate with commercial, customer success, and quant teams to understand client needs and market trends

●      Define and track product success metrics and outcomes

●      Support product discovery activities, including customer feedback, competitive analysis, and roadmap planning

●      Ensure delivered features meet quality, performance, and usability standards expected by our institutional clients


Requirements

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Senior Product Owner, ideally in fintech, market data, or data-driven platforms
  • Experience working with SaaS, platform or data product
  • Strong understanding of Agile / Scrum methodologies
  • Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail with exposure to modern data science platforms and tools (e.g. Snowflake, Databricks, cloud data warehouses, SQL, Python, Tableau, Power BI)
  • Comfortable working in a fast-growing, scale-up environment
  • Result-oriented with high commitment, resilience and professionalism
  • Experience with financial markets, trading, or market microstructure
  • Exposure to front office trading applications e.g. Bloomberg, ION, Fidessa etc

Nice to haves:

  • Familiarity with multi-asset historical market data, tick data, or analytics products
  • Background working with institutional financial clients
  • Experience using Productboard
