About HSI Skillko

Skillko, part of HSI, is revolutionising workplace safety and compliance through AI-powered training and workforce solutions. Our platform eliminates up to 90% of manual work in training processes for construction, utilities, and other high-compliance industries. We’re scaling fast across EMEA and are building a team passionate about transforming how organisations manage safety, skills, and compliance.

The Role

We are seeking a Product Owner to join our growing team. This role is critical to shaping how customer and market needs are translated into scalable, product-level solutions. You’ll partner closely with our Product Manager to define requirements, prioritise the backlog, and ensure the development team has the clarity they need to deliver high-quality, impactful features.

Unlike roles focused narrowly on individual customer requests, this position requires a product-level mindset—designing solutions that scale across our customer base and drive long-term product evolution. This is a great fit if you’re detail-oriented, confident engaging with customers, and thrive in a dynamic, startup-like environment.

Location: Remote – Candidate must be based in Ireland or UK

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research on customer use cases and analyse industry trends to inform product strategy and solution design.
  • Participate in customer kickoff and scoping meetings, particularly with small-to-mid market clients.
  • Produce clear scope documents and validate feasibility through proof-of-concepts.
  • Translate requirements into developer-ready deliverables (user stories, acceptance criteria, documentation).
  • Act as a bridge between customers, product, and development teams — ensuring clarity, alignment, and reduced rework.
  • Test and validate solutions to ensure functionality, performance, and quality before release.
  • Maintain and prioritise a backlog of features, enhancements, and user feedback in alignment with product strategy.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation (installation guides, user guides, technical specifications).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales, Customer Support, Implementation, and Marketing to ensure successful adoption.
  • Support and implement integrations with third-party technology partners.
  • Stay current with best practices in SaaS and AI, seeking opportunities to improve processes and solutions.

Requirements
  • Must-Have Skills & Experience
    • 2–4 years’ experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or in a hybrid product role.
    • Strong background in requirements gathering and definition.
    • Customer-facing experience: able to extract needs, set expectations, and confidently represent product capabilities.
    • Clear understanding of the distinction between requirements vs. solutions.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Comfortable in a startup-like environment with fast-moving, less-structured processes.
    • Collaborative, open to feedback, and adaptable when solutions are challenged.
  • Nice-to-Have Skills
    • Technical aptitude (e.g., databases, infrastructure basics, or SaaS product development exposure).
    • Experience working in SaaS or product-based organisations.
    • Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
    • Exposure to AI in product development.
    • Knowledge of compliance, EHS, or training sectors.

Benefits
  • Be part of a high-growth SaaS company redefining safety and compliance training across EMEA.
  • Direct mentorship from a hands-on Product Manager who invests in your development.
  • Grow your skills in AI, product management frameworks, and scalable solution design.
  • Shape processes in a startup-like team where your impact is highly visible.
  • Long-term career progression: opportunity to expand into broader product ownership.
