As an Product Owner I within PNC's Data, Modeling and Analytics organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA.
PNC is seeking a Technical Product Owner I with a strong business analysis foundation to support enterprise backend platforms in a complex, highly regulated environment. This role combines strategic product ownership, operational execution, and disciplined administrative oversight. The ideal candidate will bring experience translating business needs into actionable product direction while partnering effectively with business leaders, technology teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.
As a Product Owner I within PNC's Data, Modeling & Analytics organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA (or other location within the PNC Footprint). The Product Owner I typically supports one enterprise platform concurrently and is responsible for aligning priorities, guiding delivery teams, and driving successful outcomes in accordance with established architectural standards and organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
• Serves as the primary advocate for business and customer needs by setting priorities for the development team based on business value, risk, and strategic alignment.
• Communicates, and reinforces the product vision to ensure delivery teams clearly understand client requirements, business goals, and expected outcomes.
• Partners closely with the Scrum Master and delivery team to clarify requirements and support execution in alignment with release objectives.
• Reviews and accepts completed product increments, then communicates delivered business value, release outcomes, and key updates to stakeholders across the organization.
Required Qualifications:
• Demonstrated experience serving as a Product Owner within an Agile environment
• Strong business analysis capabilities, including requirements elicitation, documentation, and stakeholder alignment
• Technical aptitude supporting backend platforms, enterprise systems, or complex data-driven solutions
• Experience managing multiple products, initiatives, or concurrent workstreams
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to operate effectively within Agile and Scrum frameworks
• Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, Change Navigator, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint
• Advanced communication skills, including the ability to interpret complex technical discussions and translate them into clear, business-focused documentation and presentations
• Experience with Change@PNC methodology requirements, including Change Navigator administration, project lifecycle awareness, development of high-quality business requirements and acceptance criteria in Jira, and familiarity with 1LOD and 2LOD risk management engagement practices
Preferred Skills and Experience:
• Strong technical acumen, including familiarity with API integrations, batch file ingestion, and Kafka data services
• Familiarity with customer data management principles and data quality practices
• Ability to present technical requirements effectively to audiences ranging from business leaders to technology design and development teams
• Demonstrated confidence in addressing live technical and business process questions, with the judgment to provide accurate responses or coordinate appropriate follow-up
• Exceptional organizational skills and proven ability to support multiple Agile teams simultaneously

  • Participates in the creation and maintenance of the product backlog. Prioritizes the product backlog and leads grooming efforts.
  • Works in partnership with the Scrum Master(s) to ensure items are worked on in accordance with the product backlog. Serves as the primary point of contact for questions from the team(s).
  • Accepts delivery of working product from the Scrum Teams(s). Socializes the delivery of business value and outcomes of the iteration to various stakeholders.
