The Product Owner for High Voltage Switchgear manages product strategy and technology roadmaps, focusing on innovation, portfolio management, and alignment with market needs while overseeing R&D efforts and ensuring compliance with regulations.
Job Description SummaryThe energy transition drives an unprecedented growth in demand for and generation of electricity. To accommodate this growth, the capacity of transmission system is projected to grow three-fold. High Voltage AC Substations (ACS), High voltage direct current (HVDC) as well as Flexible AC Transmission Systems will play a key role in connecting remote and offshore renewables, interconnecting energy markets and reinforcing AC grids. A core component in all these solutions is the high voltage switchgear required to enable safety, reliability and operability. GE Vernova’s Grid Systems Integration (GSI) business line procures and develops a variety of AC and DC high voltage switchgear technologies in its solutions to meet the transmission planning needs of utilities, system operators, developers and industrial clients worldwide.
GE Vernova GSI’s CTO office is tasked with developing its R&D roadmap for HVDC and utility scale FACTS technologies, managing competencies within the company, and supporting projects with specialised technical support. To manage the high voltage switchgear product and ensure a technology strategy which meets the evolving transmission landscape, GE Vernova is currently looking for an experienced high voltage switchgear specialist to join us as a Product Manager.
The Product Manager is tasked with owning and managing defining the high voltage switchgear product portfolio strategy and technology roadmap to ensure GE Vernova’s competitive edge and licence to play. This map determines new requirements related to high voltage switchgear to meet the growing and integrated demands of target industries, covering all aspects of the product lifecycle, including design, sourcing, manufacturing, installation, operation, decommissioning and disposal. The HVS product portfolio includes DC capacitors, DC current-measurement systems, instrument transformers, voltage dividers, DC wall bushings, transformer DC bushings, air-core reactors, and PQP filters. The Product Manager aims to find synergies across HVDC, FACTS and ACS solution lines and steer towards product platforms, coordinating closely with our suppliers to ensure on time and competitive readiness. The Product Manager also formulates and implements offering and pricing principles with an appropriate go-to-market strategy and is responsible for achieving performance targets for optimization products and solutions.Job Description
