Product Owner - Embedded Accounting

Build the accounting platform that thousands of UK businesses will use every day.

Epos Now is transforming how 100k+ hospitality and retail businesses manage their finances. We're building embedded accounting directly into our market-leading point-of-sale platform, giving merchants a single place to manage sales, cash flow, bookkeeping and compliance.

This isn't about maintaining an existing product. You'll own one of the company's biggest strategic initiatives, taking Embedded Accounting from its current stage through launch, growth and international expansion.

If you're the kind of Product Owner who loves shipping products, speaking to customers and seeing your work make a tangible commercial impact, we'd love to hear from you.

The Opportunity

You'll become the product owner for our Embedded Accounting platform, working alongside engineering, design, commercial teams and senior leadership to define what gets built next.

You'll own the roadmap, prioritise features, gather customer insight and ensure the team delivers high-quality releases that customers genuinely love.

Success in this role isn't measured by documents written.

It's measured by products launched, customers adopting them and revenue generated.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Own the Embedded Accounting product roadmap from idea through delivery
  • Prioritise features that solve real customer problems
  • Work closely with engineering to ship valuable releases quickly
  • Speak with customers every week to understand pain points and opportunities
  • Turn business strategy into clear user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Monitor product performance, adoption and commercial metrics
  • Champion the product internally across engineering, commercial and leadership teams
  • Help shape how AI is embedded into customer workflows to remove manual processes
  • Build the product that becomes the financial hub for thousands of SMBs

You'll Thrive Here If You...

  • Love owning products end-to-end
  • Enjoy speaking directly with customers
  • Can balance commercial thinking with user experience
  • Like making decisions based on data rather than opinion
  • Want genuine ownership rather than simply managing a backlog
  • Enjoy working in a fast-moving product environment where you can ship regularly

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • 3+ years as a Product Owner or Product Manager within B2B SaaS
  • Experience shipping successful software products
  • Strong understanding of accounting or bookkeeping workflows
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Comfortable writing user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Data-driven approach to product decisions
  • Understanding of AI and automation concepts, including how modern AI products can improve customer workflows

Nice to Have

  • Payments, fintech or commerce experience
  • Experience with POS platforms
  • Knowledge of VAT, reconciliation, invoicing or bookkeeping
  • Experience working on products across multiple markets
  • Familiarity with conversational AI or agentic workflows

Why Join?

You'll be joining a product team investing heavily in embedded financial services, building technology that simplifies accounting for thousands of growing businesses.

You'll have genuine ownership, influence product strategy from day one and work directly with senior leadership to shape one of the company's most exciting growth initiatives.

If you enjoy building products from the ground up and seeing customers adopt what you've shipped, you'll find plenty of opportunity here.
