About us

Founded in 2017, Wayve is the leading developer of Embodied AI technology.  Our advanced AI software and foundation models enable vehicles to perceive, understand, and navigate any complex environment, enhancing the usability and safety of automated driving systems.

Our vision is to create autonomy that propels the world forward.  Our intelligent, mapless, and hardware-agnostic AI products are designed for automakers, accelerating the transition from assisted to automated driving.
In our fast-paced environment big problems ignite us—we embrace uncertainty, leaning into complex challenges to unlock groundbreaking solutions. We aim high and stay humble in our pursuit of excellence, constantly learning and evolving as we pave the way for a smarter, safer future.

At Wayve, your contributions matter.  We value diversity, embrace new perspectives, and foster an inclusive work environment; we back each other to deliver impact.

Make Wayve the experience that defines your career!

The role

As the Product Owner, you will take end-to-end responsibility for one of the most critical areas of our embodied AI system: ensuring that our AI driving model integrates seamlessly with automotive compute platforms, vehicle systems, and embedded software environments.

Your work will directly impact our ability to deploy self-driving technology into production vehicles, across a variety of OEMs, while maintaining consistency, reusability, and reliability. You will serve as the single point of accountability for specific platforms — driving execution excellence, ensuring system-level coherence, and aligning cross-functional teams behind a shared delivery goal for both internal and external platforms.

About you

In order to set you up for success as a Product Owner at Wayve, we’re looking for the following skills and experience.

Essential:

  • 4+ Years of hands-on experience with embedded platforms, with direct involvement in architecture, development, and validation
  • Structured and systems-level thinker (you understand how sensors, software, compute, etc all come together in a real vehicle) with the ability to translate complex technical, regulatory, and user considerations into a coherent roadmap
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, able to drive alignment across highly technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience owning end-to-end delivery of features, from concept to production including collaboration with engineering, systems, safety, and validation teams
  • Scrappy, resourceful, and focused on outcomes
  • Thrives in fast-paced, iterative environments with evolving priorities - brings momentum and calm to fast-moving environments without adding unnecessary process
  • Maintains a product mindset that anticipates future market and customer needs, strives for common reusable artefacts, and stays ahead with innovative solutions
  • Strong technical background in AI/ML, embedded systems, software engineering, robotics, or a related discipline
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field

Desirable:

  • Deep understanding (and hands-on experience) of automotive development and testing platforms and how they are used from concept to production
  • Familiarity with automotive real-time environments, AI compute platforms, and sensors
  • Exposure to data feedback loops, data collection, and fleet operations in AV contexts
  • Knowledge of foundation models, LLMs, distillation, edge computing, etc
  • Supportive leadership style - willing to go deep to unblock teams
  • MSc or PhD in a technical discipline

This is a full-time role based in our office in Sunnyvale or London.  At Wayve we want the best of all worlds so we operate a hybrid working policy that combines time together in our offices and workshops to fuel innovation, culture, relationships and learning, and time spent working from home.

We understand that everyone has a unique set of skills and experiences and that not everyone will meet all of the requirements listed above. If you’re passionate about self-driving cars and think you have what it takes to make a positive impact on the world, we encourage you to apply.
