About us

We’re the team behind digital retailer Very.

Our purpose, helping families get more out of life, powers everything we do.

And we want our people to get more out of life too! If you’re high-performing, ambitious and make the most of every opportunity, we want to hear from you. In return, you’ll enjoy heaps of flexibility, great perks and benefits, and the freedom to be yourself, keep learning and take your career wherever you want it to go.

If you love making a difference, you’ll love making it sparkle for millions of Very customers. ✨

About the team

Great product teams do amazing things when they're set up for success.

At Very, we're investing in the future of Financial Services, creating better experiences, smarter products and more value for our customers. To do that, we need someone who can bring clarity, structure and momentum across our product organisation.

That's why we're looking for a Product Operations Manager to help shape how our product teams work, collaborate and deliver. This is a role for someone who loves improving systems, simplifying complexity and helping talented teams perform at their best.

You'll influence everything from strategy and governance to tooling, prioritisation and delivery, creating an environment where great products can move from idea to reality faster and more effectively.

You'll also take ownership of our strategic Personal Loans product, giving you the opportunity to combine operational excellence with hands-on product leadership.

About the role

You'll have the opportunity to shape how Product Operations evolves within a growing Financial Services business, influencing everything from strategic investment decisions to day-to-day delivery practices.

You'll work across an ambitious product landscape, collaborate with talented colleagues from across the business and have the freedom to make meaningful improvements that are felt by teams, leaders and customers alike.

If you're excited by building frameworks that unlock performance, creating clarity in complex environments and helping product teams deliver their very best work, we'd love to hear from you.

This is a unique role that sits at the centre of Product, Engineering, UX, Data and Commercial teams within Financial Services.

Rather than owning a single product area, you'll have the opportunity to improve how an entire product organisation operates. You'll help teams focus on the right priorities, remove friction from delivery and create greater visibility around performance, value and investment decisions.

Your work will have a ripple effect across the business.

Product teams will have clearer ways of working. Leaders will have better insights and confidence in decision-making. Customers will benefit from better products delivered more quickly and reliably.

This is an opportunity to influence at scale, working with senior stakeholders across Financial Services while shaping the future maturity of our product operating model.

You'll play a key role in helping our product teams deliver their best work by:

  • Defining and evolving the product operating model that supports efficient, customer-focused delivery
  • Bringing greater consistency, visibility and confidence to portfolio planning, prioritisation and governance
  • Helping product and engineering teams focus investment on the initiatives that will create the biggest customer and commercial impact
  • Creating a clear view of portfolio health, delivery performance, dependencies and value realisation
  • Improving how teams use product and delivery tooling to reduce friction and increase productivity
  • Building meaningful reporting and insight that helps leaders make better decisions
  • Creating strong partnerships across Product, Engineering, UX, Data, Commercial, Risk and Compliance teams
  • Embedding governance and controls that enable teams to move quickly while meeting regulatory requirements
  • Coaching teams on product best practice, experimentation, metrics and continuous improvement
  • Acting as Product Manager for our Personal Loans proposition, helping shape the future of a strategically important product area

About you

You're someone who naturally spots opportunities to simplify, improve and connect. You enjoy bringing people together, creating clarity from complexity and helping teams achieve better outcomes.

You'll be at your best if you:

  • Have experience operating within digital product organisations, ideally within Financial Services, fintech or another regulated environment
  • Understand what great product discovery, delivery and prioritisation look like and know how to embed those practices at scale
  • Enjoy working across multiple stakeholders, building alignment and influencing without direct authority
  • Are comfortable using data and insight to drive decisions and shape investment priorities
  • Have experience improving ways of working, delivery performance and operational effectiveness
  • Balance governance and structure with pragmatism and speed
  • Are curious, outcome-focused and passionate about continuous improvement

Some of our benefits

  • Flexible, hybrid working model
  • Inclusive culture and environment, check out our Glassdoor reviews
