About the Role

We're looking for a strategic and hands-on product marketer to lead product marketing for FreshBooks' core suite, built for solo entrepreneurs and small business owners. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Product Marketing, you'll partner across product, marketing, and revenue functions to drive strategy, shape the roadmap, lead go-to-market for new products and features, and deepen usage across our customer base.
This is an ideal role for a senior product marketer with deep experience leading launches, shaping positioning, and crafting narratives that move the needle. You know how to build strong cross-functional relationships, can influence stakeholders without direct authority, and you're equally comfortable setting strategy and rolling up your sleeves to execute.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of our market, competitive landscape, and core customer segments, and champion those insights across the business to inform strategy and priorities.
  • Contribute customer research and insight generation for our core ICPs, translating findings into positioning, messaging, and roadmap recommendations that reflect real customer needs.
  • Partner closely with product managers to influence roadmap prioritization, bringing a customer and market lens to product decisions.
  • Lead end-to-end go-to-market for product launches and feature releases within your portfolio, from strategy and positioning through execution and results.
  • Drive adoption and expansion by partnering with product managers and expansion marketers to design and run experiments and programs that deepen our relationship with existing customers.
  • Develop messaging, content and enablement programs that equip the organization to tell a clear, consistent, and compelling story about our products to our market, customers and prospects.
  • Define success metrics for your initiatives, establish reporting frameworks, and ensure executive and cross-functional stakeholders are consistently informed about progress against goals.

What You'll Bring

  • 7+ years of product marketing experience in B2B software, with a strong preference for experience supporting SMB or professional services customers.
  • A proven track record of leading product launches and other GTM initiatives that deliver measurable business and customer outcomes.
  • Strong positioning and messaging skills, with the ability to distill complex products into clear, resonant narratives for both customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Deep customer empathy and experience conducting or commissioning research, with a track record of translating insights into action.
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills and the ability to influence without authority across product, marketing, sales, and leadership.
  • A metrics-driven approach to your work, including comfort defining KPIs, building reporting requirements, and communicating results with clarity.

You'll Stand Out If You Have

  • A bias for action and comfort owning high-visibility initiatives in a fast-paced, distributed environment.
  • Experience in fintech or with financially-oriented SMB customers is a plus.
