We live in a world that runs on physical industries like energy, logistics, manufacturing. These sectors are essential to our economy and daily lives, yet they are held back by inefficiencies, fragile legacy systems, and decades-old ways of working. This is not just a business problem; it is a societal one. When grids fail, supply chains stall, or factories falter, entire economies are disrupted.

These companies face unique, complex challenges that typical software was never designed to solve. Cogna was founded to change this. Our mission is to give critical industries their own AI-powered Software Factory: a way to build and deploy bespoke digital tools that solve pressing operational challenges.

Since our launch in May 2023, we’ve seen incredible customer traction and revenue growth. We’re backed by leading VCs, including Notion Capital and Hoxton Ventures, and we’re building a world-class team to take on one of the most important challenges of our time.

Tackling challenges at this scale takes people who are curious, adaptable, and motivated by impact. If our mission resonates with you, we encourage you to apply, even if your experience doesn’t match every requirement. We are committed to building a diverse team that reflects the industries and societies we serve.

Why Join Us?

  • Be at the forefront of a shift in how software is developed through the integration of AI.
  • Shape a transformative product used by top-tier industries globally.
  • Competitive market salary and significant equity stake, ensuring you’re part of the company’s growth.
  • Fast-paced, low-ego culture that fosters innovation and close team collaboration.
  • A rare opportunity to shape the vision, strategy, and future of the company..
  • Significant traction and revenue within just 8 months of launch, positioning us as a standout company in our space.

Overview:

We are looking for a systems thinking Product Manager with a sharp product intuition to help define and scale the core platform and application capabilities at Cogna. You will own key product areas that power our AI-first software creation tools, working closely with engineering, design, and customers to ship extensible, technically powerful features that feel intuitive to both developers and non-developers.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in 0→1 environments but also knows how to operationalize product development for scale. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the product vision and strategy, and thereby the impact we have on our customers.

What You’ll Do:

  • Strategic Thinking: Develop the product vision, define product strategy and goals, and ensure alignment across the company to deliver results.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner closely with engineering, design, and AI teams to define, prioritize, and ship capabilities that solve complex technical problems while delivering delightful user experiences.
  • Drive Iterative Development: Shape and deliver MVPs that solve core user problems, then evolve them based on feedback and usage patterns to maximize user and business value.
  • Own Product Outcomes: Define success metrics and use data to inform decisions. Track usage, adoption, retention, and customer feedback to iteratively improve the product.
  • Collaborate on AI Integration: Work closely with AI/ML engineers to shape how large language models are used in our workflows and applications; bringing AI capabilities into usable, reliable product experiences.
  • Understand User Needs: Conduct deep customer discovery to understand needs and behaviors. Integrate insights into roadmaps and strategic decisions in line with company vision.
  • Champion Product Thinking: Guide the broader team in applying strong product principles, mentoring peers, and evolving Cogna’s product culture.
  • Scale Systems and Practices: As the product and team grow, introduce scalable product development practices, documentation standards, and tooling that support velocity without sacrificing quality.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience: 4+ years of experience in both 0→1 product management and scaling systems in high-growth environments; ideally working on technical, platform, or builder-oriented tools (low-code/no-code, developer platforms, or workflow software), and with experience with AI/LLM tooling being a strong plus
  • Analytical & Strategic Thinking: The ability to approach product challenges with a strategic and data-driven mindset, balancing user needs with business objectives. Understands how effective product strategy is shaped.
  • Iterative, Outcome-Oriented Product Delivery: Strong track record of delivering MVPs to market quickly and evolving them based on real user feedback.
  • Comfort with Ambiguity: You are skilled at making informed decisions even in the absence of direct customer feedback or complete data. You can rely on your expertise, research, and intuition to guide the product roadmap, while remaining flexible and open to adjustments as new information becomes available.
  • Systems and Conceptual Thinking: Strong system and conceptual thinker, ability to understand complex systems, communicating and distributing this understanding in a way that is understandable by a broad range of audiences.  You know how to hide complexity without removing power.
  • Collaboration & Low-Ego Mindset: You lead with clarity and humility, inspiring teams through product thinking, not authority. You’re collaborative, open to challenge, and focused on outcomes over credit.
  • Excellent Time Management & Prioritisation Skills: You have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring all deadlines are met without compromising quality. You’re adept at evaluating and prioritising tasks based on the impact they have on stakeholders, focusing on high-value deliverables first.
  • Strong Engineering background: whether that be at degree level or extensive commercial experience in technical roles

What we offer

  • Competitive salary and share option plan
  • 25 days annual leave, plus public holidays
  • Excellent pension scheme, with Cogna paying 7.5%
  • Private healthcare, including family cover and pre-existing conditions
  • Flexible hybrid working with 2 days per fortnight in our Farringdon office
  • Regular social events and offsites
  • Access to a gym and fitness classes in our office building
