Lab49 has an opportunity available for a Product Manager to lead work oncomplex and challenging projects, driving transformative change for our top-tier financial services clients. Operating in an Agile environment, the Product Manager will contribute to the successful execution and expansion of engagements with our top clients. The Product Manager will be responsible for collaborating with delivery teams and engaging with clients to ensure project success, ongoing engagement, and identifying and defining new opportunities.

 

The ideal candidate for this role will possess a deep understanding of the financial services industry, along with a proven track record of strategic leadership, business acumen, and client relationship management. Responsibilities :

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of customer expectations and aspirations around quality, stability, and performance.
  • Collaborate with developers, designers, engineers in test, and stakeholders to design and align on the roadmap and goals.
  • Engage with C-level executives and other high-level stakeholders on strategy, progress updates, and formal presentations.
  • Own direction on product strategy, discovery, and development.
  • Foster and nurture high-value relationships with clients to drive long-term growth.

Required Skills and experience:

  • Proven experience in the financial sector, working on front-office and customer-facing products.
  • Relevant Sectors: Investment Banking, Sales & Trading, Wealth & Asset Management, Commercial Banking, Blockchain, Fintech, and Digital Payments. We are specifically looking for Equities Trading experience for this role.
  • Ability to translate complex financial concepts into actionable product strategies.

  • Product Skills:

  • Previous experience managing product conception, strategy, discovery, development, go-to-market, and growth cycles.
  • Working knowledge of agile, backlogs, personas, journey maps, and strategic roadmaps.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage market research, data analytics, UX principles, design thinking, feedback, contextual inquiry and financial acumen to drive the development and success of product development.

  • Consulting Skills:

  • Lead cross-disciplinary teams in brainstorming and strategy.
  • Develop strategic objective alignment roadmaps with stakeholder expectations.
  • Manage stakeholders and facilitate steering meetings.
  • Seek new opportunities to add value for clients.
  • Develop presentations and proposals.

  • Professional Traits:

  • Ownership mentality with meticulous attention to detail.
  • A data-centric approach with proficiency in setting, monitoring, and analyzing key metrics.
  • Rapid learning and adaptability in understanding new concepts and domains.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, especially in handling abstract or complex challenges.
  • Stellar cross-team coordination and time management capabilities.
  • Demonstrated skill in influencing stakeholders.
  • Proven record in product delivery from conception to launch.
  • Aptitude for strategic thinking and analysis, particularly in understanding intricate business scenarios.

  • Educational Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Recognized certifications in Product Management and Agile Methodologies.
  • Prior consulting experience preferred, if possible, within tailored technology solutions.
  • Possess innate leadership abilities and mentorship qualities.

  • Technical and Communication Skills:

  • Strong ability to engage with tech teams, discussing architectural nuances and potential innovations.
  • Seasoned experience on intricate tech projects with a knack for problem-solving.
  • Exceptional communication skills, inclusive of crafting and presenting material to high-level audiences, and leading teams to victory.
  • Experience in software development, data, analytics and an understanding of common technical architecture.
  • Direct collaboration experience with engineers, designers, and cross-functional teams.

  • Adaptability:

  • Agility in navigating change, with a readiness to address emerging challenges and opportunities.
