Next Generation Customer Planning will equip our commercial teams with leading edge capabilities and technology to manage their customer business plans, driving accuracy and transparency and providing the foundations for insights and growth across Net Revenue Management. Our NRM product roadmap includes multiple platforms for Customer Planning, to ensure maximum capability and value across different market archetypes.
 

The product manager for Next Generation Planning will form part of our Commercial Effectiveness team, operating within the Net Revenue Management (NRM) Programme. The role will encompass solutions across our commercial market archetypes, with a focus on newly established capabilities, particularly in our distributor led markets. You will work closely with commercial colleagues, internal tech teams, architects, platform vendors and implementation partners through detailed design phases, testing, deployment and support. Our Customer Planning tools are heavily integrated, with on-going development and support of this integration forming a key part of the role.
 

The customer planning product area is at the heart of Haleon’s commercial transformation and the role therefore requires experience of implementation within a transformation environment, where building capability and adoption are key measures of success. The role will include hands-on functional configuration as well as in-depth understanding of data models and hence requires a detailed and analytical mindset.
 

Key Responsibilities
Product Vision, Strategy & Alignment:

  • Actively contribute to shaping the product's direction with a solid understanding of market trends and the product's role in the business.

  • Collaborate with commercial functions and stakeholders to ensure alignment on product goals and messaging.

Delivery & Execution:

  • Independently manage initiatives and take ownership of identifying and managing dependencies with other tech teams, influencing and coordinating with these teams to prioritize and address dependencies effectively.

  • Take ownership of functional platform configuration to ensure that system capabilities are aligned with business processes and priorities lead testing efforts for specific features or modules, coordinating with development teams to ensure comprehensive test coverage and timely issue resolution.

Measuring Success & Evaluation:

  • Define key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success and user engagement.

  • Analyse product performance and provide data-driven recommendations for enhancements.

Product Financial Management & Operations:

  • Leads on operational activities such as release management, compliance, vendor management, and technical debt management, as well as managing live service.

Data Operations & Management:

  • Become the data model expert for our customer planning solutions, understanding the full data lineage and working with our commercial and analytics teams as we develop complex insight tools using customer planning data.
     

Skills & Experience

  • Commercial & Data Technology: Proficiency in various digital and data technologies across commercial stacks ideally including SAP ERP. Familiarity with data visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and analytics platforms.

  • Data Integration & Architecture: Familiarity with enterprise architecture principles and data integration / interfacing approaches

  • Industry Knowledge & Experience: Understanding of the consumer and/or retail sectors and their challenges/opportunities and (ideally) knowledge of designing, building and implementing one or more Trade Promotion Management solutions

  • Communication & Stakeholder Management: Experience of working alongside senior commercial stakeholders, with a clear and concise written and verbal communication style. Able to act as a primary point of contact for product-related inquiries and feedback.

  • Teamwork & Collaboration: Able to work effectively and build relationships with colleagues across our tech and commercial teams to ensure technology, vendor, and delivery choices align with D&T Strategy. Balancing trade-offs between cost, quality, and pace. Experience working in cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams

  • Data Literacy: Serving as a key interface between business needs and the product team, with ability to understand and explain the role of data governance in ensuring our customer planning products deliver maximum value.
