About YASO

YASO is the operating system for international brands in China, built by a team of China experts, technologists, and startup operators. We provide a plug-and-play solution that manages the full cross-border ecommerce and social commerce stack - from store operations and pricing to influencer partnerships and logistics - all powered by our proprietary technology.

We give brands full visibility across every performance layer, including traffic, conversion, revenue, influencer ROI, content, and stock. For the first time, brands can monitor and manage their China business in real time, with data that is transparent, measurable, and actionable.

By replacing opaque legacy models with a unified, data-driven system, YASO enables international brands to take back control of their growth in China.

Following our Series A fundraise, we are expanding our global team across London, Shanghai, and beyond to shape the future of cross-border retail.

The Role

You'll own product for our UK squad, driving the evolution of our platform and building the capabilities that unlock enterprise customers and enable 100% self-service usage of YASO.

You'll work directly with potential customers to understand their needs, prototype standalone tools (starting with real-time monitoring/visibility), and collaborate with engineering to ship features that drive measurable adoption.

You report to our Founder in London and will work alongside our China- and EU-based engineering teams as we scale these up.

What You'll Do

  • Own end-to-end product delivery: customer discovery, requirements gathering, prototyping, roadmap planning, and launch execution for China ecommerce tooling that can be used independently or as part of the full YASO platform.
  • Help shape the YASO roadmap, ensuring that your initiatives fit within our wider-strategic and business goals.
  • Validate relentlessly. Rapid prototyping, user interviews, data analysis. Ship fast, learn faster. Track adoption metrics and feed learnings back into the roadmap.
  • Embed within our sales team: Join calls with enterprise prospects and larger brands, understanding their pain points, validating willingness to pay, and gathering feedback on prototypes.
  • Translate customer requirements into technical specs. Work with engineering to ensure features can function as standalone products, collaborate with sales on pricing/packaging, and ensure features address real market needs.
  • Own the end-user experience for features you ship. Work with our designer to ensure features are intuitive and polished.
  • Collaborate across timezones. Daily sync with London-based leadership, regular collaboration with Shanghai engineering and ops teams, weekly customer calls across UK and China.
  • Support sprint planning and execution. Facilitate standups, groom the backlog, write clear user stories, and ensure the engineering team has everything they need to ship without blockers.

Requirements

Experience:

  • 5-7 years as Product Manager in B2B SaaS companies
  • 2+ years at seed/Series A startups (required - whether in China or internationally)
  • Shipped 2+ products end-to-end (0→launch) that drove measurable business results
  • Lived and/or worked in China for a substantial period of time

Bilingual Communication (Critical):

  • Native or near-native fluency in English AND Mandarin Chinese

Technical & Design Capability:

  • Strong technical intuition – understanding of basic technical concepts, evaluate technical decisions, spot potential issues
  • Strong design sense and eye for UI/UX
  • Comfortable making UX/UI decisions using component libraries (we use Radix/shadcn)
  • Can translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and vice versa

Market Knowledge:

  • Deep understanding of China ecommerce landscape (platforms, social commerce, cross-border dynamics)
  • Understanding of enterprise software buying processes and SaaS pricing models
  • Bonus: Experience working with brands/retailers in China market

Mindset:

  • Customer-obsessed: You get energy from customer discovery and validation
  • Bias for action: Ship working features today over perfect features next quarter
  • Comfortable with ambiguity: Building new products means operating without perfect information
  • Startup mentality: Hands-on, willing to do whatever it takes

Location & Visa:

  • London-based (required)
  • We sponsor UK work visas
