The Product Team ❤️

Our Product Team is responsible for the strategy, planning, launch, and adoption of the different OpenZeppelin products. This role will be focused on adoption and helping developers thrive using our developer tools for building on-chain applications such as OpenZeppelin Contracts, Wizard and Upgrades Plugin. It will require experience and skills in go-to-market, product marketing, and developer relations, as well as product management.

The Product Team works closely with all the functions in order to achieve our goal of protecting the open economy by enabling developers and companies to securely code, audit, deploy, and operate smart contracts. We put a strong emphasis on user experience and analytics, and we love to experiment!

What you'll be doing

  • Define and execute a clear product roadmap for our Build Tools that aligns with our vision to scale secure blockchain applications to a broader audience.
  • Work closely with Development, Design, Data Team, and other stakeholders to discover and deliver solutions that meet the needs of developers and users alike.
  • Manage the product backlog, prioritize opportunities based on impact, and oversee the end-to-end execution of product initiatives.
  • Establish key performance metrics to guide product decisions and measure success, ensuring that we are delivering value to both developers and the broader ecosystem.
  • Report on progress, identify strategic challenges, and refine product strategies in collaboration with leadership.
  • Engage with developers and ecosystem partners to understand unmet needs, gather feedback, and identify opportunities for product improvement and innovation.

You have

  • 3+ years of product management experience with a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive product initiatives from concept to launch.
  • Open Source experience, either working at an open source company, as a creator of an open source project and community or as a contributor to a popular open source project.
  • Strong understanding of blockchain technologies, particularly Ethereum, and familiarity with the developer tools and communities within the ecosystem.
  • An ownership mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, remote work environment, taking initiative to drive projects forward.
  • Technical background such as a degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
  • Excellent organization, execution and project management skills, data driven approach to product decisions.
  • Experience writing documentation or producing other content to synthesize technical concepts and communicating them in a clear, simple way.
  • Ability to balance short-term objectives with long-term vision, aligning product developments with overall company goals.
  • Startup experience.

Nice to have

  • Experience contributing to open-source smart contract libraries and developer tools.
  • Hands-on experience with smart contract development or familiarity with programming languages used in blockchain development.
  • Participation in blockchain events, forums, or other forms of community engagement.
