Wherever our people work their magic, they’re fast-moving, performance-obsessed, and driven by being better every day. Ideal. Because a role here isn’t just another job; it’s a career-defining opportunity to build the future of fintech.

Job Description

We are seeking a Product Manager to lead the Client Balances product team, a mission-critical domain that enables our merchants to control their money in real-time. You will be responsible for scaling our ‘stored-value platform’ and launching revenue-driving products that allow our clients to manage their money directly within the Checkout.com ecosystem. The successful candidate will provide cross-functional leadership across product, engineering, and business teams, to provide our clients the best experience to store and manage their money. They will establish a robust foundation and drive the product roadmap for areas such as Balances, Reserves, Top-ups, Funds Transfers, Yield Accounts and others. Daily tasks include understanding stakeholders’ pain points, driving prioritization for product development, and developing new capabilities for our customers.

Hybrid Working Model: All of our offices globally are onsite 3 times per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). We’ve worked towards enabling teams to work collaboratively in the same space, while also being able to partner with colleagues globally. During your days at the office, we offer amazing snacks, breakfast, and lunch options in all of our locations.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and own the Checkout Business Account & Funds Management features. You will be responsible for ensuring merchants have a robust and seamless way to store, move, and grow their balances while unlocking new borrowing opportunities in the future.

  • Build out a strategy for Balances within the Financial Experiences product pillar, including how to make our bank-like capabilities competitive, and leverage Checkout.com’s unique position within our customers’ critical flow of funds (i.e., acquiring flow).

  • Triple our key North Star metric of ‘Balances Held on Platform, via better ways to store, grow, and move money within our ecosystem.

  • Be an expert for the Balances space, informing our reserves/top-ups/routing policies and their strategy to offer our merchants best-in-class funds management solutions.

  • As the Balances PM, you will sit at the intersection of Acquiring (funds in) and Payouts (funds out). We expect more than just a foundational knowledge of payments; you understand the entire lifecycle of a ‘unit of value’ as it transitions through ledgers and balance statuses.

  • Build strong partnerships with business, product, and technology stakeholders:  buy-in and collaboration to generate momentum for mobile products.

  • Work with other product and engineering leaders to ensure alignment with cross-functional roadmaps that relate to the mobile world.

  • Gain a deep understanding of Checkout.com’s customers, be them end-customers or developers, and businesses themselves.

  • Build strong relationships across your network, particularly with engineering. You foster a team culture that upholds Checkout.com’s operating principles.

About you:

  • 3-5 years of product management experience.

  • Experience working in B2B/B2C money management products, business accounts, or digital wallets.

  • Data-driven: Skilled at leveraging data and business insights to determine strategic priorities and drive the product roadmap and execution.

  • Customer-first: Think from the customer's perspective and can balance future opportunities with immediate needs.

  • End-to-end mindset: Think in a structured and diligent manner, understanding all key components necessary to drive the ongoing success of a product.

  • Leadership: Excellent at collaborating with stakeholders in product, engineering, commercial, and business teams proactively, demonstrating high EQ and influencing skills.

  • Effective communicator: Able to inspire others with a shared vision and simplify complex concepts for a wide range of audiences.
