Product Engineer

HUD is building infrastructure to create RL training data and evals for frontier AI agents, as well as a marketplace to sell these to frontier labs through the HUD marketplace. Our platform is used by frontier labs, Fortune 500 companies, and startups. We’ve raised $16M from top VCs and were YC W25.

We’re looking for a Product Engineer to turn important, cross-cutting product problems into shipped experiences across HUD’s platform and marketplace. You’ll work with our product, design, engineering, research, and GTM teams to understand where environment creators and research teams get stuck, decide what to improve, and build the solution.

This role combines product judgment, interaction design, and full-stack engineering. You’ll move from user conversations and early prototypes to production software, making technically dense workflows clear and useful without losing the detail users need.

• Talk with users and internal teams to find friction in creating, testing, evaluating, and discovering RL environments; shape those findings into clear product priorities

• Design, prototype, and ship product improvements across HUD’s platform and marketplace, owning work from problem definition through launch and iteration

• Make agent runs, evaluation results, reward signals, and quality feedback easier to understand and act on through thoughtful interfaces and workflows

• Build the frontend and backend pieces needed to improve vendor onboarding, environment submission, review, and discovery for research teams

• Use user feedback and product signals to assess what works, refine the experience, and help product, design, and engineering make tradeoffs

You may be a good fit if you have:

• A record of shipping software products end-to-end, from understanding the user problem through implementation and iteration

• Strong product judgment: you can identify the problem behind a request, set a useful scope, and make sound tradeoffs with incomplete information

• Interaction design skills and a high bar for clarity and usability in complex, technical workflows

• Full-stack engineering ability, including building polished web interfaces and the backend services or APIs that support them

• Comfort talking directly with users and using qualitative feedback and product data to improve what you ship

• Clear communication and the ability to work closely with product managers, designers, engineers, researchers, and other partners

Strong candidates may also have:

• Experience with developer tools, data-rich products, marketplaces, or products serving distinct groups of users

• Familiarity with AI agents, evaluations, reinforcement learning, or training data

• Experience designing workflows for review, debugging, quality feedback, or other complex operational work

• Experience finding and owning product gaps in a growing, cross-functional team

• Team Size: ~25 people currently, mostly full-time in-person, but some remote.

• Our team: Our team includes 4 International Olympiad medalists (IOI, ILO, IPhO), serial AI startup founders, and researchers with publications at ICLR, NeurIPS, etc.

• Company stage: We have 8 figures in funding and are scaling profitably and quickly to meet very strong demand.

• Employment: Full-time.

• Location: We have offices in San Francisco or Singapore but are open to remote candidates who can work hours that 70-80% overlap with either San Francisco or Singapore time zones.
