About the Position
We are looking for a Product Developer (Senior R&D Technologist) to lead all aspects of product development, from concept to launch. This hands-on role involves working closely with cross-functional teams, injecting creativity into our products, and taking ownership of the development process. It offers significant responsibility and the opportunity to expand your skills across various product categories. Are you ready to bring innovation to life?
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Full ownership of product development and execution (partnering with cross functional team), including co-creation of strategy, product pipeline and concepts - co-packer briefing - prototype development - product tasting - nutritional profiling - claims - regulatory and quality - costings - scale up and implementation.
- Supporting packaging development and structural design. Providing innovative solutions for the consumer experience and driving the company's sustainability agenda.
- Building strong relationships with external manufacturers, organizing co-creation development sessions and utilizing the full breadth of their capability, as well as internal network with Procurement and Commercial functions
- Identifying relevant consumer trends to translate into product pipelines and future launches.
- Implementing a consumer experience focused mindset throughout the product development process, utilizing a test and learn approach and building connections with consumers throughout.
Qualifications
Please kindly note that you need to have a UK Working Permit in order to proceed for this position.
- BSc in Food Science or Technology or equivalent in a related field, such as Biology, Chemistry, Engineering
- 3+ years of work experience in an R&D development role
- Track record of taking products from concept to launch
- Experience in packaging and/or working in an international company and complex / matrix organization is helpful
- Experience in an FMCG company is helpful
- Strong proficiency in English
- Negotiation and influencing skills to launch products in-line with stretching timelines and cost targets
- The ability to adapt: You have a flexible and pragmatic approach and can build collaborative relationships
