Product Designer (Mid-Level Designer)

  • Location: London
  • Hybrid: 2 days a week in office
  • Salary: £65K - £80K

 

We are looking for an experienced Product Designer who is enthusiastic about systems thinking and user-centred design. The ideal candidate brings expertise in design systems, accessibility, user experience, and solving complex problems. You will be working in a multi-disciplinary squad and working across all aspects of the design process. The outcome of that work will help millions of users understand, improve, and manage their financial wellbeing.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience in designing for native app, mobile web, and desktop web
  • Experience in creating or contributing to design systems
  • Experience in embedding accessibility into the design system
  • Experience in coordinating and running user research and usability testing
  • Ability to run ideation workshops with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders
  • Ability to understand and navigate technical complexities
  • Proficiency in Figma or other design and prototyping tools
  • Deep thinker - considers various scenarios, edge cases, platforms, breakpoints, etc.
  • Obsession with your craft, down to the smallest detail, ensure a high bar of quality both in design and in the final product
  • Good team-working, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
  • Independent thinking, and not being afraid to drive your ideas forward
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and excited by a challenge orientated environment
  • Pride in the work you do and everything you get involved with
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment


In this role, you will:

  • Work in a significant product area, contributing to all aspects of design, from discovery to delivery, including hands-on UX, UI, and Content design.
  • Work within, and contribute to, the design system, enhancing and expanding it as appropriate.
  • Work with your squad to understand the underlying system, constraints, and technical requirements.
  • Working with global teams, converging on scalable designs that solve for different markets.
  • Run research activities, including user interviews, usability testing, and competitor analysis.
  • Actively participate in, facilitate and/or lead ideation workshops with design peers, engineers, product people, and stakeholders.
  • Create the right assets and outputs (sketches, wireframes, prototypes, user flows, etc) and provide the right storytelling to communicate your ideas.
  • Respond to research and data, fine-tuning your solutions as you learn.
  • Be hands on in Figma, from wire-framing to detailed UI polish, choosing the appropriate fidelity as you need.
  • Contribute to the design team by providing feedback in critiques and sharing your skills.
  • Establish and refine your squad’s ways of working to enhance efficiency and quality
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and sustainable working culture within your squad
