About the Product Designer role

We are looking for a Product Designer to join our team on a fixed-term contract and to play a critical role in transforming our user experience and advancing the next generation of our issuer and payment platforms.

You will be focusing on designing servicing and back-office functions for credit products, requiring a deep understanding of complex user journeys, multiple use cases and regulatory requirements.

The Product Designer will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including risk and compliance teams, to ensure the design of compliant, user-centric solutions that meet the needs of operational teams and end users.

What you will be doing as a Product Designer

Designing complex user journeys and multi-use cases

  • Mapping and designing for intricate user journeys across multiple touchpoints, catering to diverse personas
  • Developing scalable design solutions that support varied workflows, including exception handling, approvals and escalations
  • Ensuring designs accommodate both high-volume transactional use cases and specialised, edge-case scenarios critical in credit operations

Contributing to and extending the design system

  • Collaborating with the design system team to create reusable components tailored for servicing and back-office interfaces, ensuring consistency across platforms
  • Identifying gaps in the design system for operational tools and proposing new patterns or components to address them
  • Championing accessibility (WCAG standards) and usability best practices for internal and external-facing credit product tools

Designing for regulated industries

  • Understanding and incorporating regulatory requirements into the design process, ensuring compliance with industry standards and legal mandates
  • Collaborating closely with risk, legal and compliance teams to design solutions that minimise risk exposure while maintaining user-centred design principles
  • Addressing complex scenarios such as fraud prevention, credit risk management, and audit trail requirements in servicing workflows

What you will bring to the Product Designer position

  • Expertise working in Payments ideally, or FinTech
  • Experience designing credit products or working in credit would be highly desirable but not essential
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating zero to one or complex, cross platform initiatives
  • Experience working with other Designers to achieve shared outcomes
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, balancing high-level UX strategy with detailed execution
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Content, Product Managers and Developers to deliver exceptional user experiences
  • User Research techniques; Proficient in various user research methodologies, including interviews, usability testing, surveys and A/B testing
