This position reports to the Director, Product Design.
What you'll do
- Manage and lead a growing and business-critical team of product designers
- Mentoring individual contributors
- Inspire, empower and motivate designers to do the best work of their career. Help build a successful team by mentoring, coaching, and elevating others
- Continuous collaboration and process improvement with Design, Design Operations, Content, Research, Engineering, Product, and Business teams throughout the product life cycles
- Distill complex problems into digestible steps, and communicate proactively
- Contribute to the larger design team culture
Examples of desirable skills, knowledge and experience
- 8+ years of experience in Product Design. The ideal candidate has 2+ years experience in leading a product design team
- Experience leading and scaling a team in a rapidly scaling complex organization
- People-focused, critical and strategic analytical thinker
- Proactive and clear communicator with excellent analytical skills, facilitation, and organizational understanding
- Successful track record of building and managing impactful, collaborative product design teams
- Experience facilitating design thinking workshops with cross-functional teams
- Highly collaborative and relentlessly customer-focused
- Experience managing remote, geographically distributed teams is a plus.
- Deep thinker and natural communicator who can tell compelling stories that inspire action
