The Design System team at Miro is integral to shaping the user experience across Miro’s Innovation Workspace. The team is responsible for evolving and maintaining Miro's product design language, ensuring it is modern, inclusive, and accessible.
The team works closely with various teams across the organisation, including brand design, marketing, content design, accessibility, and localization, to provide a cohesive and consistent user experience. The team also manages the design system libraries in Figma and code, and its documentation portal, supporting Miro’s core product experiences across desktop, mobile, and interactive displays.

About the Role

We're looking for a talented Design Manager to help evolve Miro's product design language and scale its supporting design system beyond its foundations. You will be responsible for driving the quality of the product experience across the organisation. You’re expected to bring strong creative leadership skills and direction, supported by a foundation of exceptional visual and motion design craft. 
You’ll use these skills to ensure Miro’s designers, product and marketing teams, and external partners have the clarity, resources, and support needed to deliver high-quality design solutions at scale. You will work closely with the brand design team to align Miro’s brand design language with the product experience. You'll manage and lead a small team of Senior Designers, and be responsible for their growth and development at Miro.

Mironeers work in a hybrid model, with 2 days a week in the office. We are hiring this role for both our London and Berlin hubs and are also open to remote within EMEA. 

What you’ll do

  • Lead the implementation of Miro’s product design language and its supporting design system across the product organisation.
  • Articulate and communicate a clear vision and direction for Miro's design system.
  • Create company-wide awareness and engagement with Miro's design system.
  • Deliver org-wide enablement through training, coaching, supporting tools and documentation.
  • Elevate design quality across the org, supported by review processes, supporting rituals and tools.
  • Help elevate visual and motion design skills across Miro’s product organisation.
  • Drive career development of individual contributors on the design system team.

What you’ll need

  • 10+ years of product design experience in B2B/SaaS/Enterprise products
  • A portfolio showcasing exceptional visual and motion design skills and a strong sense of aesthetic.
  • Strong creative direction, strategic and systems thinking, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Experience in implementing design systems at scale, with demonstrated business impact.
  • Experience working with large Design teams within mid to large product companies (200+).
  • Experience with accessibility guidelines and applying these at scale.
