Product Control Analyst (Hybrid - 3/2 Work Schedule)

The Product Control Analyst will prepare financial reconciliations, analyze financial reports, assist in the closing processes, and collaborate with various departments on business initiatives and process improvements. Castleton Commodities International (“CCI”) is hiring a Product Control Analyst to join the Merchant Product Control team in our London office. The team environment is fast moving with a proactive culture which will encourage the successful candidate to use their initiative and actively contribute to success in a fluid environment. This is an outstanding opportunity for individuals aspiring to build a career in the commodities sector, providing valuable exposure to both the physical and financial dimensions of commodities trading, including oil, natural gas, and power. This role will involve day to day interaction with various functional areas within CCI (e.g., Trading, Scheduling, Settlements, Risk, Treasury, and Tax).
Responsibilities:
- Prepare balance sheet and income statement reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Prepare detailed analysis and commentary on financial reports
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and yearly close processes
- Standardize and streamline processes through automation tools
- Identfiy control or reporting issues, propose process improvement ideas, and coordinate resolution in an accurate and timely manner
- Collaborate closely with Trading, Scheduling, Settlements, Risk, Treasury, and Tax departments on new business initiatives, key business transformation projects, and various ad-hoc business requests
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field
- Candidates with an accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) or in the process of getting the qualification are preferred
- Candidates with 2+ years of experience in Product Control or relevant fields will be considered.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail including a strong control focus
- Excellent communication skills and ability to develop lasting working relationships
- High level of accuracy and diligence in financial reporting and reconciliations.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong preference will be shown to candidates with SQL, Python, Alteryx or Tableau knowledge
