THE ROLE:

Are you driven by the development of big ideas and their transformation into solutions that deliver business and customer value? Are you excited by the prospect of collaborating with a top-notch multidisciplinary UX, design & technology team to build digital products? If you have successfully led the whole process of building a digital product from discovery stage to delivery and launch, then the Product Consultant role at Apply Digital is perfect for you.

As a Product Consultant, you will work within the Product Management team, and work in partnership directly with clients and a multidisciplinary team of experts. You will own the process from product discovery to delivery and optimisation, including requirements gathering and execution of the roadmap. You will understand the why, and professionally challenge our clients where needed to ensure the high quality of your solution. You will prioritise, focusing on business outcomes, user value, and the ROI of the products we build in partnership with our clients. In short, you’ll be expected to onboard with clients quickly, align internal and external teams, and deliver outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Run discovery sessions with clients and partners to understand current challenges, business goals/objectives and current technical setup.
  • Assemble detailed requirements for product, platform, and commerce initiatives, navigating stakeholder and technology ecosystems.
  • Prepare, review, and achieve alignment on product requirements documents (PRD), product alignment documents (PAD), and product briefs.
  • Build and champion product strategies and vision throughout client engagements, as well as brief and inspire internal team members to deliver on that vision.
  • Retrieve and analyse feedback from end users, customers, stakeholders, other teams, and various research methods to shape requirements, features, and end products.
  • Contribute to creating product plans and roadmaps with the goal of getting the buy-in of executive stakeholders.
  • Build trust and inspire confidence with clients by understanding their needs and using product management frameworks to align them on your thinking, rationale, and proposed decisions/recommendations.
  • Build products using an Agile methodology, whilst collaborating with a cross-functional team to build fully operational platforms and products.
  • Organise product releases and prioritise properly, to ensure delivery of business value expectations.
  • Prepare recommendations to track product use and impact on end users.
  • Ensure requirements have been delivered to specifications, defects have been managed through to resolution, and assess readiness for launch.
  • Prepare recommendations to expand product base and vision based on data and research-driven insight.
  • Add value to the team - you are not just an order-taker. You understand what it means to drive ROI through business and customer value, you understand the constraints from all directions, and you use your consultative skills to make recommendations to move vision forward.

Requirements:

  • You are perceptive, a creative problem solver.
  • You are professional, confident, and able to discern which ideas will work.
  • You have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a Product / eCommerce Management role where you developed digital products and solutions that you have shipped, managed, and operated.
  • You have performed product ownership and product discovery and are able to leverage relevant product management frameworks and mental models to validate problem spaces and potential solutions.
  • You have experience working directly with a team of developers, testers, designers and stakeholders within an agile delivery framework to ship quality products on time and within budget.
  • You have the ability to deconstruct epics into individual users stories and can lead a product squad to navigate uncertainty.
  • You understand both technical and non-technical languages and can convey technical concepts to non-technical people and turn business, UX, design requirements into technical specifications.
  • You aim to develop exceptional client service skills and excel in communication when working with your team, client stakeholders, and leadership.
  • You are comfortable navigating client situations and recommending paths to resolving uncertainty. You can work effectively across disciplines in a client-facing capacity.
  • You thrive on turning ambiguity and conflicting information into clarity in a fast-changing environment.
  • Past experience working in a consultation role or similar roles through an Agency, Consultancy, or other Professional Services Firm is a strong asset. Likewise, having experience of working closely with, and even purchasing, digital Consultancy/Agency services is helpful.
