Position Overview:
The Procurement Specialist is responsible for overseeing the process of acquiring goods and services for the UK organization. Their role is crucial in ensuring that the UK organization obtains quality products and services at the best possible prices, within budgetary constraints, and in compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Here are some key tasks typically associated with the role of a Procurement Specialist:
Role Scope
Sourcing & Procurement
- Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers of renewable energy solutions, sustainable products, and green services.
- Lead the procurement process from RFI/RFQ/RFP development to contract award, ensuring alignment with company sustainability objectives.
- Negotiate pricing, terms & conditions with suppliers to deliver best value, quality, and service.
Supplier Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and service providers in the clean energy sector.
- Monitor supplier performance and compliance with contractual terms, sustainability standards, and ethical practices.
- Coordinating external audits and certifications to demonstrate adherence to procurement standards.
- Support projects on supplier progress and delivery reporting
Market & Industry Insights
Track market trends, regulatory developments, and innovations in clean energy and sustainable procurement.
Provide recommendations to internal stakeholders on emerging technologies, products, and services.
Identifying potential new suppliers and technologies that could benefit the organization.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with engineering, operations, finance, and sustainability teams to define procurement needs and specifications.
- Ensure procurement strategies support corporate Environment, Social & Governance (ESG) and Net-Zero goals.
Risk & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procurement regulations, and industry standards.
- Assess risks in supply chains and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Support schedule delivery mitigations.
Cost Negotiation and Reduction:
- Identifying cost-saving opportunities/initiatives and track.
- Negotiating prices, terms, and conditions with suppliers to obtain the best possible deals.
- Analyzing market trends to identify further opportunities for cost savings.
Risk Management:
- Assessing and managing risks associated with the procurement process and projects.
- Developing contingency plans to mitigate potential risks.
Budget Management:
- Manage the procurement budget.
- Monitoring and controlling costs to stay within budgetary constraints.
Supplier Performance Evaluation:
- Establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) for suppliers.
- Regularly evaluating supplier performance and addressing any issues or concerns.
Sustainability and Social Responsibility:
- Considering environmental and social impact in procurement decisions.
- Developing and implementing sustainable and socially responsible procurement practices.
Communication and Reporting:
- Communicating procurement updates to key stakeholders.
- Generating and presenting reports on procurement activities and performance.
- Working closely with various departments, such as sales & marketing, development, engineering and implementation, to ensure procurement policies, processes and support, are embedded across all functions.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business or related field of study
Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) – Current Registered Member
Requirements of the Individual:
Experience in a related field.
Sourcing process using Procurement Portals – Ivalua Preferred.
D365 purchase requisition and Purchase Order preparation and approval – preferred.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as a team.
Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills including minute taking.
Should have excellent skills in all platforms of the MS Office Suite (most notably MS Excel/PowerPoint/Word).
Must be able to drive and be flexible on working locations.

Good and confident communication skills at all business levels.
General Duties
To update the company, on work monitoring systems with accurate.
Assist in improving operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
General office duties as required to support delivery.
