Your Role:

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to join our Finance team in this new and exciting role, working closely with all our internal teams including Technology, Change, Underwriting, Claims and more.

The role covers all aspects of Procurement from new contracts and suppliers to renewals and negotiations. These will cover our critical suppliers through to our smaller temporary suppliers and will have a focus on value, sustainability and partnership.

As a growing company we are walking the line between flexibility and discipline as we grow and look to track and mature all elements of procurement including data, SaaS, third party oversight and strategic partnerships. This role is ideal for those who are looking to mature and set up a new function and want hands on impact to Apollo’s bottom line.

Regulatory oversight and the oversight of our supplier partners is becoming increasingly important, and this will form a core part of the role. Apollo has a focus on sustainability, customer engagement, and external partnerships, you will be instrumental in Apollo’s growth and success in an ever-evolving business landscape.

What you’ll do:

Procurement 

  • Lead engagements with new and potential suppliers
  • Own and run the due diligence process including ESG, finance, data, technology and contractual compliance
  • Maintain and report on the core suppliers and contracts list responding to stakeholder enquiries as required
  • Co-ordinate and manage any RFP/RFI or negotiation processes
  • Co-ordinate and manage the financial projections across all our contracts
  • Maintain and manage renewals with cost centre owners and contract owners
  • Provide regular reports to governance committees and executive committees providing insights and escalations for critical suppliers
  • Work with core departments to understand their procurement strategies and requirements  
  • Acts as a first point of contact for procurement internally and externally
  • Own, utilise and mature the Apollo Procurement processes and policy.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Own the procurement relationship with all departments 
  • Input to the business continuity and operational resilience processes and standards
  • Work closely with other business teams to ensure alignment and synergy across the organisation.
  • Establish respect and trust with colleagues, internal and external stakeholders to ensure outcomes are realised within agreed timescales and within budget.

Risk Management

  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Stay informed about industry regulations and compliance requirements related to procurement.
  • Understand and apply Operational resilience and wider resilience standards.

What we are looking for:

  • Proven track record of successfully managing procurement processes
  • Experience managing third parties
  • Knowledge of contract standards and structures
  • Knowledge of due diligence standards and practices
  • Technical familiarity and experience dealing with technical teams
  • Adept at translating business requirements into technical deliverables/ Statements of Work, enabling the Business to use IT services to maximum effect
  • Appreciation of data security principles and how they translate into contractual controls
  • Experience managing RFP and RFI processes
  • Able to instill a sense of urgency and a desire to deliver key objectives through a proactive and open approach
  • Relationship management and Stakeholder management skills
