About the Role

Drive Ocado’s global expansion as Procurement Manager. You’ll lead end-to-end supply and delivery for Third-Party MHE, building strategic supplier partnerships that cut long-term costs and deliver exceptional value to our international clients. 

Core duties: 

  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders across engineering, product development and projects, to ensure product specifications and changes are managed effectively from concept to supply
  • Lead supplier relationship management activities with key suppliers
  • Assess impact of proposed engineering changes with suppliers
  • Implement engineering changes into the supply chain, including sourcing, negotiating and contracting
  • Provide commercial data to internal project teams for business cases
  • Development, coordination and management of key suppliers
  • Report relevant supplier KPIs and drive performance
  • Support the successful delivery of goods to schedule whilst achieving budget and meeting specified Quality standards
  • Support the coordination of product demand v’s manufacturing requirements with business stakeholders and suppliers
  • Risk identification and mitigation, anticipating supply chain challenges
  • Take ownership of supply issues, resolving them in line with business need
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to improve Supply Chain robustness
  • Communicate with project stakeholders to ensure alignment of projects and expectations
  • Drive best practice in Procurement and Supply Chain, and deliver continuous improvement
  • Understands the product and supplier market, and able to provide information and recommendations based on this

About you

  • Proven track record in Procurement and effective supplier management
  • Experience of sourcing and contracting MHE goods and services.
  • Supplier negotiation including commercial and contract terms
  • Although a hybrid role, 2 days per week in the Hatfield office (Tue & Wed) and travel to supplier sites both in the UK and abroad is expected
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, team-oriented, fast-paced environment
  • High level of computer literacy with Microsoft Office, Google Docs and ERP software

Preferred (in addition to minimum)

  • Qualification at higher national or degree level 
  • CIPS or equivalent qualification
  • Experience of sourcing direct goods in a manufacturing and/or engineering environment
  • International sourcing experience and legal contract experience
  • Demonstrable experience of developing and delivering procurement and/or category strategies
