Job Description

As part of the Technology & Digital Procurement Team, you will be working within Technology Procurement Partnering.

This is a great opportunity to gain experience in a fun, agile organisation where you can build on your existing procurement skills by working across a wide range of projects and the breadth of the category.

You will gain a deep understanding of how a global fast-paced online retailer operates and will have the opportunity to work with stakeholders across exciting business areas.

  • Developing and executing against an overarching category strategy – applying deep industry and ASOS tech knowledge in order to define the mid and long term strategy to optimise spend and business outcomes.
  • Autonomously defining and managing a varied workstack of strategic, complex & high value add procurement activity
  • Optimising technology procurement across multiple projects simultaneously – clear view of business priorities and pivoting your efforts to align.
  • Building and leading relationships with stakeholders across the business up to & including c-suite level – providing commercial & thought leadership.  Be seen as the SME for technology procurement
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with strategic partners in order to drive incremental value to ASOS.
  • Identifying and delivering a pipeline of savings opportunities – reporting and updating on achievements.  Using your SME knowledge and procurement experience identify and deliver against opportunities outside of direct negotiation to optimise ASOS outcomes (savings or value generation) including process improvements.
  • Proactively identifying pragmatic and ‘right fit’ sourcing strategies subject to business capacity, complexity, value and risk.   
  • Managing corporate risk – identifying supplier risk areas, quantifying risk exposure and executing risk mitigation actions
  • Managing, coaching and developing.
  • Supporting our culture by championing Diversity, Equity & Inclusion strategies.

Qualifications

  • Experience of working within a fast-paced Procurement environment with multiple competing priorities.  Proven ability to autonomously define, manage and prioritise across a high workload.
  • Deep experience of working across a broad spectrum of technology requirements.
  • Ability to apply the right ‘efforts’ subject to complexity and value of projects and to moderate this whilst retaining stakeholder support.
  • Proven track record of taking ownership of technology subcategories, developing right fit strategies mid to long term and executing against longer term plans.
  • Proven track record of autonomously and successfully planning and executing RFPs
  • A thorough understanding of all relevant procurement systems and tools and proactively providing input to the centre of excellence on improvement opportunities.
  • The ability to proactively pivot quickly and prioritise effectively within a dynamic environment susceptible to change. 
  • The ability to face and resolve multiple complex issues in a collaborative manner
  • A down to earth character that takes people with them on a journey of cultural change
  • Strong communication skills and ability to forge relationships with suppliers and stakeholders that are fit for purpose and positively represents procurement.
  • Great analytical, administrative and presentation skills.
  • Experience in managing or coaching more junior members of the team.
  • The confidence and motivation to work independently whilst ensuring senior stakeholders and management are appropriately informed or consulted as required.
  • A strong passion for learning and the confidence to challenge the status quo.
