This position is part of the Indirect Procurement Delivery leadership team reporting into the Head of Indirect Procurement Delivery.

As a Capability Lead - Sourcing, you will work in a dynamic global environment where you will bring analytical thinking, planning, execution, and focus to the procurement sourcing and delivery capability area. You will utilise your specialized knowledge and in-depth expertise in Sourcing and Category Management to drive collaboration with internal procurement and functional management to contribute and implement a best-in-class procurement delivery capability. You will be responsible for the strategic direction of Sourcing within Global Procurement, drive alignment with digital initiatives and customer satisfaction, and ensure consistent application of procurement methodologies. You will also lead transformation programs and support both Procurement Delivery Chapters, by clearly defining what excellence looks like for operational sourcing, establishing an integrated plan and applying a data-driven approach to measure progress, while removing impediments and enhancing overall performance.

You will collaborate with internal procurement (such as both Delivery Chapters, Customer Excellence, Insights, Analytics, Contracting, Learning and Development, etc.), Roche Services and Solutions, functional management and business stakeholders to build and implement a best-in-class procurement delivery capability ensuring balanced team and external partner resource utilisation.

You will work closely with other team members, as a peer coach, project, or workstream lead to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and further automation of core Procurement processes, providing capacity, expertise, and oversight to productivity and other customer-oriented projects/solutions.

As a Capability Lead - Sourcing, you will play a variety of roles according to your experience, knowledge, and general business requirements, including but not limited to:

  • You are a subject matter expert in Sourcing and Category Management, evaluating project requests and business needs to develop and execute strategies and best practices in alignment with the Procurement strategy and stakeholder needs.

  • You will own the end-to-end process for the Sourcing Capability area, from strategic conception to end-user adoption, ensuring a consistent approach to operational sourcing within Global Procurement.

  • You develop content, Sourcing guidelines, best practices, training and communication materials that improve adoption, satisfaction, and overall efficiency of the Sourcing Capability.

Who you are:
  • You hold a university degree, preferably in business or a related discipline.

  • You have 10+ years of procurement experience, with a strong focus on Upstream activities (Strategic Sourcing and Category Management).

  • You have a proven track record in running transformation programs and delivering complex business process or organizational change projects (consultancy experience in the Procurement space is highly valued).

  • You possess the ability to influence without authority and have strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to connect across various levels in the organization (from senior LT to execution teams).

  • You are a strong advocate of agile ways of working, with a focus on continuous learning and improvement.

  • You demonstrate expertise in procurement methodologies, specifically in sourcing excellence and operational efficiency projects.

  • While deep technical AI experience is not required, you have the digital literacy and curiosity to explore how digital tools can automate sourcing engagements.

  • You are comfortable working in a global, fluid, and interactive matrix environment; experience in peer coaching or project leadership is preferred over formal people management.

  • You are open-minded and inclusive, generously sharing ideas and knowledge, while being receptive to feedback.

  • You are fluent in English to a Business level.

Join our team and enable the strong capability expertise needed to meet the evolving needs of our customers.
