Here’s a summary of the role:
The purpose of this role is to deliver efficient, value-driven procurement that enables YouGov’s strategic objectives. With an initial focus on IT and technology spend, you will develop and deliver category strategies, lead end-to-end sourcing activity, and partner closely with technical and business stakeholders to ensure optimal commercial outcomes across the full procurement lifecycle.
This is a highly collaborative role, combining strategic business partnering with hands-on delivery across sourcing, contracting, and supplier relationship management.
Here’s a breakdown of what you’ll do (not all of it, just the important stuff):
Strategic Procurement & Business Partnering:
- Manage a varied and prioritised workload across strategic and tactical procurements, process improvement initiatives, and proactive stakeholder engagement
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, project managers, and technical leads to develop effective category, sourcing, contract, and supplier strategies
- Build and maintain a forward-looking pipeline of procurement opportunities through proactive spend analysis, contract review, market intelligence, and close business partnering
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify supplier capabilities, commercial models, and innovative solutions that deliver value for money
- Use data, Excel-based analysis, and procurement systems to evaluate options such as demand consolidation, alternative suppliers, internal delivery models, or workforce solutions
Delivering Effective Procurements:
- Lead YouGov’s most complex, high-value, and high-profile procurement projects end-to-end, while also supporting lower-value tactical activity as required
- Facilitate collaborative workshops and meetings with internal and external stakeholders, including requirements definition, evaluation criteria development, and supplier engagement events
- Negotiate commercial, contractual, and service terms to secure optimal outcomes on cost, quality, risk, and performance
- Respond quickly and effectively to changing priorities, including urgent tactical procurements or contract amendments
Contract & Supplier Management:
- Support supplier onboarding, ensuring timely and accurate completion of due diligence and documentation
- Build and maintain strong, collaborative supplier relationships to drive innovation, reliability, and mutual value
- Manage supplier performance through KPIs, governance frameworks, and feedback mechanisms
- Support and enable devolved contract managers across the business to manage supplier performance effectively
Risk Management & Compliance:
- Ensure procurement activities comply with organisational policies, regulatory requirements, and professional best practice
- Identify and mitigate risks related to supplier dependency, cybersecurity, data protection, and technology obsolescence
- Promote sustainability, social value, and corporate social responsibility within procurement strategies and supplier selection
These are the essentials you’ll need to get an interview:
- Significant experience managing indirect procurement, with strong focus on IT categories from strategy through to contract execution
- Proven experience managing complex IT supplier relationships and large-scale technology contracts, either directly or in partnership with technical leads
- Strong negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder management skills
- Proficiency with procurement and e-sourcing tools such as SAP Ariba, Coupa, or equivalent
- Strong understanding of IT procurement, including software licensing, cloud services, IT consulting, and hardware
- Familiarity with IT and information security frameworks and standards such as ITIL, ISO 27001, and COBIT
