Join our Procurement Team!

As the custodians of iconic brands such as Baileys, Guinness, Smirnoff, and Johnnie Walker, at Diageo, we source, produce and deliver 6.5 billion litres of world-leading products every year, across 180 markets globally. The commercial challenges here are large, diverse and endlessly fascinating. Never more so than in Procurement.

As an organisation, we spend over £5 billion per year. And as the driving force in this expenditure, our Procurement teams make a far-reaching contribution to our business, productivity and growth goals - right across the globe. Premium quality and end-to-end, sustainable value are how we measure our success - across services, partnerships and products. We always want to be the best and, along with engaging the best talent to work with the best products, this is how we attempt to do it. Ultimately, this is about people as much as numbers. We build great relationships internally and externally - so we understand our needs and how to meet them. Every time. Join us in Procurement and, if you’re driven, resilient and share our pioneering spirit, there’s a world of opportunity here for you.

About the Role

Our ambition is to build a robust Supplier Ecosystem and a harmonised One Procurement Community (OPC) Process Framework that supports Diageo’s continued growth. Sitting within the Process & Supplier Excellence team under the Global Supply, Sustainability & Procurement Transformation (GSSP) pillar, this role has a truly global remit across all of Diageo Procurement.

As a Supplier Excellence Specialist, you will play a key role in unlocking value across the 4Cs (Cost, Cash, Carbon and Consumer) by improving processes, strengthening supplier partnerships, and enhancing supply chain resilience and compliance.

You will act as a process improvement specialist, driving standardisation, innovation and continuous improvement across procurement, ensuring our ways of working are efficient, scalable and future-ready.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Drive process excellence

  • Design, standardise and optimise end-to-end procurement processes across the OPC framework

  • Develop and evolve tools, playbooks and frameworks to embed best practice globally

  • Ensure processes are user-friendly, fit for purpose and continuously improved through feedback

Lead continuous improvement initiatives

  • Identify and deliver high-priority process improvement programmes across key markets

  • Analyse process performance, KPIs and audit findings to recommend and implement improvements

  • Act as a trusted advisor to procurement teams on process optimisation

Enhance supplier performance and partnerships

  • Support Supplier Performance Management (SPM) and Joint Business Planning (JBP) governance

  • Collaborate with suppliers and category teams to drive value and performance improvements

  • Contribute to supplier engagement initiatives, including surveys and supplier recognition programmes

Strengthen risk, compliance and resilience

  • Support initiatives to de-risk the supply chain, including data privacy, cybersecurity and AI governance

  • Partner with Legal, Risk and GBO teams to ensure compliance with policies and standards

  • Contribute to building a resilient and future-proof supplier ecosystem

Enable digital and data-driven procurement

  • Collaborate with Digital and Technology teams to implement tools, automation and reporting dashboards

  • Use data and insights to track process health, compliance and performance

  • Explore opportunities to leverage AI and digital solutions to improve efficiency

Collaborate and influence across the business

  • Work closely with global and market procurement teams, stakeholders and shared services (GBO)

  • Support capability building, training and adoption of new processes and tools

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation and collaboration

What This Role Delivers:

  • More efficient, standardised and scalable procurement processes

  • Stronger supplier performance and strategic partnerships

  • Improved data, insights and decision-making

  • Enhanced supply chain resilience and risk management

  • A more agile, innovative and future-ready procurement function

About You

You’re a proactive and curious problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced, global environment and is passionate about driving continuous improvement, creating impact, and working collaboratively to shape better ways of working.

  • A self-starter with an agile approach, able to take initiative and adapt quickly in a changing environment

  • A strong process improvement attitude, with a passion for finding opportunities and driving meaningful change

  • Experience delivering projects, transformation initiatives or continuous improvement programmes

  • Strategic and analytical thinking, with the ability to use data and insights to inform decisions and prioritise effectively

  • Confident in stakeholder management and influencing, with the ability to build strong relationships across teams and levels

  • An understanding of procurement and/or supply chain processes (or the ability to quickly build knowledge in this space)

  • A commitment to continuous learning, actively seeking and applying feedback, insights and audit findings to improve performance

  • Awareness of risk and governance, with the ability to embed compliant and sustainable ways of working

  • Experience supporting or navigating change management, helping teams adopt new processes, tools or ways of working
