📍 Adlington, UK | 🕒 Full-time (39 hours per week, Monday–Friday)

About the Roles

We are looking for a proactive and improvement-focused Process Engineer – Production to join our team.

In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating and improving manufacturing processes, supporting New Product Introduction (NPI), and driving continuous improvement initiatives across production. Working closely with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Supply Chain teams, you will help ensure new products transition seamlessly from design into production while improving efficiency, productivity, and quality across the business.

Key Responsibilities

New Product Introduction (NPI)

  • Collaborate with New Product Development teams to ensure a smooth transition of products into live production
  • Develop standard work instructions, workflows, and procedures to support quality-focused manufacturing
  • Create, manage, and continuously improve the Production Design Introduction (PDI) process

Process Improvement & Continuous Improvement

  • Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, productivity, and quality
  • Support the deployment of the Continuous Improvement (CI) vision and strategy across the production environment
  • Measure the effectiveness of process changes and ensure improvements are sustained

Manufacturing Excellence

  • Participate in Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA) activities to optimise product design and build processes
  • Review workshop layouts and workflows to improve throughput and operational performance
  • Identify make-versus-buy opportunities and work closely with Supply Chain and Production teams to deliver cost-effective solutions
  • Identify and implement tools, technologies, and systems that support operational excellence

Training & Documentation

  • Create and maintain process documentation, procedures, and workflows
  • Train and support team members in adopting new processes and best practices
  • Support the delivery of high-quality training and competency development across production teams

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to drive improvements
  • Build strong relationships across departments to support business objectives
  • Support additional projects and improvement initiatives as required

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • Vocational training, technical certification, or qualification in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (e.g. Level 2/Level 3 qualification)
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a Mechanical or Electrical Technician role
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a leadership position such as Supervisor or Team Leader
  • Ability to read and interpret technical and engineering drawings
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A proactive and analytical approach to continuous improvement

Desirable

  • Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) activities
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or DFMA principles
  • Experience creating standard work instructions and process documentation
  • Experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment
