GSK is seeking a skilled and motivated Network Engineer to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and supporting GSK's network infrastructure. This role requires a candidate with a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various teams across the organization.

Your responsibilities include…

  • Design and implement robust, scalable, and secure network solutions at all GSK remote locations to meet the needs of the organization.
  • Act as SME for route/switch, Wi-Fi, and authentication services for IT and OT environments.
  • In concert with Observability, access and improve monitoring and automated response of network performance
  • Regularly assist strategic partners in the diagnosis and restoration of network issues, and ensure the reliability and availability of the network.
  • Implement and manage network security measures to protect data, applications, and systems.
  • Work closely with other IT professionals and departments to ensure seamless integration and operation of network services.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, changes, and procedures.
  • Assist strategic vendors in the planning and execution of network upgrades, maintenance, and patches to keep the network infrastructure up-to-date and performing optimally.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in network engineering to continuously improve the network environment.

Your Key Stakeholders are…

  • Director Access Network: Accountable to ensure processes are followed for all LAN and Wi-Fi services strategy, designs, and implementations.  Provide feedback for improvement.
  • Access Network Architect: Collaborate daily to challenge status quo and present ideas for improvements in delivery of services
  • Strategic partners: Routinely act as SME for 100+ simultaneous projects in fulfilment of services to the business
  • Connectivity Team Members:  Continually strive to integrate network services into a cohesive service end to end

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Over 10 years of experience in Network Services in an enterprise environment
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with diverse audiences across various technical disciplines and job levels to achieve results.
  • Experience with Mist platforms, Cisco route/switch/wifi, and Palo Alto firewalls.
  • Experience with OT / Manufacturing environments.
  • Display ownership principles of resolving technical issues in the field.  Adept at remote troubleshooting.
  • Experience with matrixed multi-functional teams located globally.
  • 5+ years of experience engagement with strategic suppliers providing 24x7 operational support and technology vendor support contracts
  • Experience in establishing SRE practices within the enterprise

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent technical qualification with relevant experience.
  • Self-starter with a sense of urgency and the ability to handle multiple high-priority work demands simultaneously in an outcome-driven organization.
  • Five years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a solid understanding of its technological trends.

  • Passionate about enhancing the customer experience.
  • Experienced in initiating and delivering large-scale operational programs.
  • Skilled in operating systems and database administration.
  • Proficient in agile delivery methodologies.
  • Experienced in the DevOps operational model.
