THE TEAM
The Development Business Analyst Team has responsibility for specifying, managing and delivering all data feed related requirements for LSEG real time systems and businesses. These requirements result from stock exchanges or regulatory changes such as 'MiFID II directive' to business-defined discretionary projects, and encompass various aspects like data, technology and service. Depending on the nature of the project, Business Analyst undertakes a combination of project management, technical implementation, and testing analyst tasks.
This role will primarily focus on supporting the Full Tick Replatform initiative - a strategic project aimed at enhancing the resilience and performance of our low-latency, real-time data platform.
WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS
We manage real-time data feeds for all exchanges across the EMEA region, including premium markets such as the London Stock Exchange and Nasdaq Nordic. These feeds are mission-critical, requiring precision, speed, and deep market understanding.
Principal Technical Business Analysts are central to this effort. They gather and document business, technical, and data-related requirements for internally developed software applications. They also validate the accuracy of market data logic through rigorous testing and support the software through its release into production.
A key focus for this role is contributing to the Full Tick Replatform—a major, multi-year initiative to modernize our infrastructure. This program is designed to enhance speed, accuracy, and resilience, laying a robust foundation for the future of global financial markets. Principal BAs will play a vital role in designing, testing, and delivering these next-generation solutions.
Beyond project delivery, Principal BAs manage multiple initiatives with shifting priorities, often in real-time. They serve as subject matter experts for assigned feeds and act as a backup to the team manager, contributing to overall squad coordination and leadership.
They are also expected to track team progress, mentor colleagues, and take on broader responsibilities outside of standard BAU work—demonstrating initiative, ownership, and a commitment to continuous improvement across the team and organization.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM
We’re looking for someone who is curious, proactive, and eager to make an impact. You’ll thrive in this role if you have:
- Proven track record in delivering software projects within a financial market-data related environment.
- Ability to acclimate quickly to unfamiliar environments, to be resourceful and take initiative.
- Consistent record in writing technical documentation and testing for financial data software improvements and large-scale implementation projects.
- Experience in projects run in both agile and waterfall methodologies.
- Experience of management tools like JIRA, proficiency in Microsoft Excel as well as entire Microsoft Office Suite.
- Fair knowledge and understanding of technology concepts.
EVEN BETTER IF YOU ALSO HAVE:
- In-depth knowledge of stock exchange data feeds.
- Hands-on experience in infrastructure implementation projects.
- The ability to collaborate effectively with global teams across time zones and cultures.
WHAT YOU’LL DO DAILY
Your role will be varied, meaningful, and impactful:
Collaborate with architecture teams and business partners to understand the impact of the Full Tick Replatform project on our group, and clarify expectations and deliverables.
Evaluate current processes and tools to ensure alignment with the FTR initiative, seeking opportunities for improvement.
Support the testing and rollout of new tools introduced as part of the re-platforming effort.
Provide guidance and direction to team members to ensure consistent understanding, alignment, and execution throughout the re-platforming process.
You will also be doing more standard tasks for Principal BA role, which include:
Work Oversight: Monitor exchange notifications and enhancement requests, escalate actionable changes, and initiate response plans. Serve as backup across venues to ensure timely impact assessments.
Liaison: Coordinate with exchanges, project managers, sponsors, clients, and developers to manage new work demand. Build effective relationships across diverse stakeholders.
Project Oversight: Participate in status meetings, support scope and testing efforts, and provide guidance even when not the lead BA for the venue.
Documentation: Create high-quality business and technical documentation, including test cases and results, setting a standard for others.
Service: Support production teams with issue analysis and resolution, ensuring continuity even in the absence of the primary BA.
Participation & Initiative: Actively contribute to cross-team initiatives, reporting, and knowledge sharing. Principal BAs are expected to go beyond BAU delivery—taking ownership of broader responsibilities, driving team-wide improvements, and stepping into leadership roles where needed.
Transparency: Communicate scope changes, roadblocks, and concerns that may affect clients and deliverables.
Process Improvement: Propose and implement enhancements to BA practices and workflows.
Training: Mentor and support onboarding of new team members.
Agility: Adapt quickly to lead or support any project with minimal supervision.
Continuous Improvement & Automation: Provide strategic and tactical input on automation and process improvement initiatives. Actively contribute to the design, testing, and validation of new solutions to ensure they meet business needs and are operationally sound. Support pilot phases and deployments by collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth transitions and minimal disruption.
