Principal Software Engineer / Tech Lead

Fidelity Investments Workplace Investing organization is looking for a Principal Software Engineer to support our equity compensation recordkeeping platform. This person will play a key role in allowing Stock Plan Services (SPS) to accelerate the pace at which our participants can take advantage of new global capabilities. The individual will make a significant impact leading a team of engineers responsible for the design, development, and delivery of new and improved experiences for a customer base consisting of 500+ of the Fortune 1000 companies.

We’re hiring a motivated engineer to help us scale the delivery of key experiences to allow more participants to realize the benefits of these capabilities. With a heavy focus on ownership and teamwork this engineer will run point for the team providing technical leadership and helping to foster a healthy learning environment.

This position provides the opportunity to work on the premiere equity compensation system in the industry, processing grants of stock, stock options, and other stock derivatives trading through domestic and international brokers.

The Team

You will be part of the technology team in SPS which is constituted of multiple agile squads. As the technical lead for one of these squads you will help drive collaboration across the organization and internal to the team. Being an outstanding partner, you’ll work alongside other tech leads, squad leads, quality engineering, support teams, and operations to effectively lead delivery and enablement of these global experiences. These experiences will be built around real-time recordkeeping, reporting and business intelligence features running on a modernized cloud-ready stack.

The Expertise We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a technology related field (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, etc.) required.
  • 8+ years of Java EE development on high volume enterprise systems.
  • Proven expertise developing JAVA middle tier rest services and with Enterprise messaging like ActiveMQ, Kafka.
  • Experience with PL/SQL and complex queries.
  • Understanding of Relational Databases.
  • Proven understanding of Cloud Computing and DevOps concepts like CI/CD pipelines in an AKS Azure environment.
  • Demonstrated experience of leading engineering teams.
