About Marshmallow

We started Marshmallow when we found out how unfair insurance prices are for people who move to the UK. All because the industry hasn’t given this huge cohort of people a second’s thought, and isn’t set up to price them properly.

We saw an opportunity to do things differently, so we made it our mission to back the ones who step outside the norm. Since we started, we’ve helped 100,000s of people get a fairer deal on their car insurance. Using technology, we serve people that are often overlooked by financial services companies, solving important problems for people who need it most.

We know there are millions of marginalised customers out there. And we know that they face unique problems that most companies aren’t even aware of. We believe that our future is helping these people by learning about their experiences, and building our company around their needs. And there are strong signs that there’s a need for a company like us. Earlier this year we hit profitability, which is a huge milestone, but the most exciting thing is that we’re only just getting started.

How we work

We’re really proud of the culture we’ve created. We push for progress every day, because we know that we’ll only hit big milestones by taking lots of smaller steps. We’re always open to helping our team mates, sharing our ideas, experience and knowledge to solve problems together. We take risks, think creatively and experiment relentlessly to meet our customer’s needs, and never pass blame when things go wrong. We encourage people at all levels to take ownership of their work, and to be bold in challenging how we do things. Everyone has a voice and the opportunity to make an impact.

And autonomy and ownership are only possible with clear direction. That’s why we collaborate to do in-depth planning twice a year, and make sure we leave with clear goals and objectives that flow from top to bottom. To make sure we’re as aligned as possible across functions, most of our work rolls up into four tribes; Acquisition, Retention, Claims and Pricing, Underwriting & Fraud. Each tribe has multiple teams embedded in it, working cross-functionally to do great work.

We’re so excited for all of the challenges up ahead, and we need more people to help us tackle them! If life at Marshmallow sounds like it could be for you, explore our culture handbook or read our blog to find out more.

The Acquisition Tribe

At Marshmallow, our mission is to make insurance accessible and seamless for people moving to the UK. As part of this, the Acquisition Tribe plays a pivotal role in growing our customer base. We aim to attract and convert new users through innovative products, delivering unbeatable experiences, and establishing Marshmallow as the go-to insurer for newcomers to the UK.

We’re looking for a Principal Product Manager to join the Growth team, leading our most ambitious growth initiatives. You’ll play a key role in shaping our strategy for acquiring new customers, building new growth products from scratch, and scaling our experimentation and marketing technology capabilities. This is a unique opportunity to blend long-term innovation with near-term impact, helping Marshmallow reach its next stage of growth.

What You’ll Be Doing

As Principal PM, you’ll:

  • Define and own a forward-looking growth product strategy, identifying bold opportunities to accelerate new business.

  • Lead the discovery, definition, and execution of new growth products and features, working closely with design, engineering, data science, and marketing.

  • Build and scale a culture of experimentation, leading the design of a robust A/B testing and measurement framework.

  • Explore and apply emerging technologies—including AI and personalisation models—to unlock new acquisition channels and improve user journeys.

  • Act as a leader for Growth across the business, setting vision and influencing at the exec level.

  • Partner with Growth Marketing to supercharge performance across SEO, referrals, affiliates, paid media, and organic channels.

  • Shape our Martech and content infrastructure to better support experimentation and real-time optimisation.

  • Own high-impact KPIs and clearly communicate trade-offs, priorities, and performance to the broader business.

  • Mentor other product managers and contribute to a strong product culture within the Growth team.

Who You Are

You’ll thrive in this role if you:

  • Think like a founder: you’re resourceful, strategic, and not afraid to go from zero to one.

  • Are deeply curious and energised by experimentation, learning, and shipping fast.

  • Get excited by technology—especially new capabilities like AI—and enjoy applying them creatively.

  • Communicate clearly and influence effectively across technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Love using data to make decisions and enjoy solving ambiguous problems through first-principles thinking.

  • Have a strong sense of ownership, but you’re also a true team player.

What We’re Looking For

  • 7+ years of product management experience, ideally in high-growth environments like SaaS, marketplaces, or DTC/eCommerce.

  • Proven track record of building and scaling growth products or platforms from the ground up.

  • Experience with A/B testing at scale, experimentation frameworks, and understanding of statistical principles.

  • Comfort working with AI or data science-powered products, or a strong interest in developing this skill set.

  • Strong understanding of growth channels (e.g. SEO, performance marketing, CRM) and how product can enhance them.

  • Ability to set strategic direction while also sweating the details.

  • Bonus points if you’ve worked in an early-stage environment, led cross-functional pods, or launched new business lines.

  • Competitive bonus scheme - designed to reward and recognise high performance 🌟
