About the role:

The Customer Journey team is dedicated to improving the customer experience across all Gen’s products and services. We use customer research (both qualitative and quantitative) and service design to understand how people use and experience our products. We present business recommendations to improve each brand’s end-to-end customer experience and solve identified issues. We act as trusted advisors to the business, owning and delivering key insights on the end-to-end experiences across various business and stakeholder groups.

Mission & Goals
As a Sr. Principal Product Designer, you will be shaping our key customer experiences.  Your focus will be on crafting simple, user-friendly experiences, focused on getting smart solutions that solve real-world problems into the hands of our customers. By your nature, you are solution-oriented, commercially savvy and have a head for technology.

  • Take broad, conceptual ideas, based off user research and data, turning them into something useful and valuable for our users.
  • Deliver customer-centric and data informed experiences that are meaningful, cohesive, accessible, and usable.
  • Oversee all aspects of design, including interaction design, information architecture, and visual design to develop and execute business strategy and vision.
  • Design new experiences or layouts that evolve and define our design system.
  • Represent work to a broader product team and other leaders, clearly and succinctly articulating the goals and concepts.
  • Own the overall experience and partner closely with product & engineering peers to ensure we are building a product that our customers need and love.

Competencies

  • Can showcase strategic product thinking with experience in developing product goals, identifying opportunities, and making decisions based on the impact to people and the company.
  • Experience overseeing and executing high design craft and vision for B2C products
  • Experience building and shipping multiple features that are broad/ambiguous in scope and encompass an end-to-end experience across a variety of platforms.
  • Deep understanding of user-centred design principles, and the ability to apply them to complex problems.
  • Passionate and humble; you always seek new horizons, remaining curious about emerging market trends and trail-blazing experiences.
  • You are comfortable working within a geographically distributed team.
  • Experience in cybersecurity industry is a plus, but not essential.
