In this role, you will own carrier connectivity for Connected Trading, shape how the hardest connectivity problems in commercial insurance placement get solved, and work with Engineering, Design, and customer-facing teams to move placement, from request for coverage to bind, into one connected workflow.
What you'll own
- The carrier connectivity problems that Connected Trading use cases surface, from first diagnosis to a working solution in production
- Ambiguous, technically complex, cross-team problems where you form your own view and make the call, weighing carrier constraints, system architecture, and agency workflow needs, and fixing what limits agency-side use cases without waiting to be assigned
- Solution design alongside engineers as a technical peer, including data contracts, authentication, error handling, and failure modes, with the tradeoffs between approaches made explicit
- Delivery across the Epic, Cytora, and Ivans product and engineering teams: agreeing priorities, sequencing, and capacity, and staying accountable until the solution works in production
- The measures that show whether connectivity is working, including delivery success, quote return rate and latency, normalization accuracy, and carrier onboarding time, tied to the share of marketed submissions that reach connected carriers
- Partnership with the value product managers who depend on carrier connectivity and with carrier partners, setting clear expectations for what connectivity provides, resolving competing needs, and communicating problems, tradeoffs, and progress to product and business leadership
What you'll bring
- A record of owning solutions to complex technical problems through to production, not only writing requirements and handing them off
- 10 or more years of product management experience delivering outcomes for a technical product or product suite, including defining requirements for a platform, integration, or API product and working with the engineering teams that build and run it
- Working knowledge of how systems connect: REST APIs, authentication and authorization, webhooks and callbacks, data mapping, and integration failure modes. You can read an API spec and discuss design choices with engineers
- Experience delivering through teams you do not manage, where engineering sits in a different organization and priorities compete, on problems of real scale where the solution spans multiple systems and directly affects customers or partners
- Strong analytical skills and exceptional written communication, from technical specifications to executive summaries, plus the curiosity to dig into root causes and act without needing a problem handed to you in finished form
What could set you apart
- Insurance experience, especially carrier systems, agency-carrier data exchange, or standards such as ACORD
- Experience with data normalization, ingestion pipelines, or document and email processing, including AI-assisted extraction or classification of unstructured data
- Experience building multi-sided marketplace or network products where each new participant raises value for the others
- Experience mentoring or guiding other product managers
