About us:

Linklaters is a global law firm, providing legal services in 20 countries and through 30 offices.

Linklaters is a people business. Being best in class in the eyes of our clients means that our people must be exceptional.

We look not only for brilliant minds, but for people who will thrive in our environment: people who love working collaboratively and demonstrate the innovative, efficient, agile, entrepreneurial, and responsible mind-set we aim to bring to every interaction.

Ours is an environment of outperformance. We achieve this not with targets and incentives, but by fostering a positive, supportive, fair, and open atmosphere.

We respect and value difference but insist on inclusivity. We celebrate all aspects of diversity and challenge any form of bias. This is vital to our ability to work as one team, with a common goal.

About the role:

This is a rare opportunity to play a leading role at the intersection of complex legal matters, advanced pricing strategy and GenAI‑assisted delivery.

You will be a recognised expert in complex matter pricing, supporting partners and senior stakeholders on high‑value, multi‑jurisdictional and technologically sophisticated matters. Working at the heart of the firm’s commercial agenda, you’ll help shape how we price, structure and deliver work in an evolving legal market — including matters that leverage technology and GenAI to drive efficiency, value and innovation.

You will lead and develop a high‑performing pricing team, while working closely with lawyers, legal tech specialists, legal project managers and finance colleagues to design compelling commercial proposals that work for both clients and the firm.

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Leading the firm’s complex matter pricing capability, including matters with tech‑ and GenAI‑assisted delivery
  • Acting as a trusted commercial adviser to partners on:
    • pricing strategy
    • fee structures and AFAs (including value‑ and outcome‑based models)
    • financial modelling, margin analysis and negotiation planning
  • Developing bespoke and scalable pricing models to support complex and novel matters
  • Supporting major proposals, RFPs and competitive bidding processes from strategy through governance and approval
  • Project‑managing the pricing elements of complex proposals to tight deadlines
  • Helping to embed best‑practice pricing approaches, governance, tools and playbooks across the firm
  • Playing a visible role in horizon‑scanning market, pricing and technology trends — particularly GenAI and its impact on legal delivery
  • Leading, motivating and developing a talented team, fostering accountability, innovation and continuous improvement

This role offers global exposure, strategic influence and the opportunity to help shape the future of pricing in a leading international law firm.

What we're ideally looking for:

We’re looking for someone who combines strong commercial judgement and financial rigour with the confidence to operate at partner level and the curiosity to engage with new ways of delivering legal services.

Ideally, you will bring:

  • Significant experience in pricing, commercial finance or matter pricing, ideally in a professional services environment
  • A strong track record of working on complex, high‑value or multi‑jurisdictional matters
  • Advanced financial modelling skills, with the ability to stay accurate under pressure
  • Experience advising senior stakeholders and influencing decision‑making with confidence and credibility
  • A genuine interest in:
    • GenAI and legal technology
    • alternative fee arrangements and value‑based pricing
    • evolving client expectations and commercial innovation

In addition, you’re likely to recognise yourself in the following:

  • Confident communicator with the gravitas to challenge and influence partners
  • Collaborative and empathetic, able to build trusted relationships across disciplines
  • Highly proactive, organised and comfortable juggling competing priorities
  • A strong people leader, focused on coaching, development and performance
  • Curious and forward‑looking, with an eye on market trends and continuous improvement
  • Committed to quality, governance and doing the right thing, even under pressure

What's on offer:

This role is based at the Linklaters London office with a hybrid working model available.
