✎The Mission

As the Pricing Lead, you will be at the forefront of driving Wakam’s UK pricing strategies. This pivotal role involves designing and implementing data-driven pricing frameworks that optimize profitability and market competitiveness. Collaborating with underwriting, claims, and distribution teams, you will shape decisions that impact our growth and success.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Pricing Strategy: Developing and executing strategies to achieve profitable growth while adapting to market demands.
  • Portfolio Management: Analyzing performance metrics, monitoring competitor pricing, and optimizing portfolio profitability.
  • Technical Pricing and Analytics: Leading the design and improvement of pricing models using actuarial and statistical methods.
  • Stakeholder Management: Partnering with MGAs, internal teams, and compliance to align pricing decisions with regulatory and market requirements.
  • Leadership: Mentoring a team of analysts and actuaries, fostering innovation and a culture of excellence.

Profile

We’re seeking a strategic and analytical thinker with:

  • A degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, or Data Science.
  • Deep knowledge of the UK insurance market and regulatory framework.
  • Proven experience in retail insurance pricing roles, ideally for Motor and Home products.
  • Proficiency in pricing tools (e.g., EMBLEM, AKUR8) and programming languages (Python, R).
  • Strong communication skills to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • A track record of leading pricing projects or teams.
