Role overview

The Insights team is responsible for building and maintaining high quality, accurate insight reports that enable the whole Pricing team to find and take advantage of risk, margin and underwriting opportunities. You’ll help to build this actionable insight. 

What you’ll be doing

  • Understanding the insights we would like to have available, what we currently have and producing a roadmap to close identified gaps in priority order.
  • Ensuring regular production of insights to guide the the pricing and adaptations for areas of greatest opportunity that can be turned into actionable price change.
  • Insight will cover risks cost models, market comparisons, retail opportunities including elasticity as well as areas for footprint changes  Dynamic MI production to spot KPI’s that have made step changes outside of normal volatility corridors as well as being able to proactively detect opportunities for investigation.
  • Data updates to reflect business changes, with any correlated impacts are identified.
  • Coordination between on-shore and off-shore teams.

Our hybrid model offers a 'best of both worlds' approach. When you'll be in the office depends on your role and team, but colleagues spend at least 50% per month.

What you'll need:  

  • Understanding of key legislation and regulation applying to motor insurance and how this impacts pricing algorithms, models, customer premiums and experience.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with a keen eye for problem solving.
  • Ability to communicate complex information in a simple way.
  • Extensive hands on experience of Radar, or alternative pricing software.
  • Extensive experience of multivariate modelling, for example in Emblem.
  • Extensive experience of data manipulation using languages, such as SQL or Python.
  • Knowledge of statistical and mathematical techniques and proven experience of applying these effectively in General Insurance Pricing
  • Experience in generating insight from Data, including the full ML pipeline through to building tools for non-technical stakeholder use.
