Do you have a background in consumer PR, a love of food and drink and are looking for an opportunity to work in the consumer press office of one of Britain's most loved supermarkets? We are currently recruiting for in our Press Office for a 3 month Fixed Term Contract

Your Role

 

You will be on the frontline of Asda Brand's consumer press office – being the first port of call for consumer journalists. You will develop and manage a calendar of regular, proactive news stories to promote Asda's offering across food, drink and services throughout the year.

 

You will manage all reactive journalist requests relating to food and drink product – sharing information and managing sample requests as required, with the support of our retained consumer agency

 

You will be a natural storyteller with an eye for what makes the news, with strong journalist contacts across the consumer media.

 

You will have a finger on the pulse, being across the news agenda and monitoring and sharing opportunities to react which feel relevant to the Asda brand and in-keeping with our tone of voice.

 

Your communication and writing skills will be second to none, with the ability to write and pitch product news and stories with creativity and flair. 

 

You will play a key role in the development and execution of our seasonal wine events, managing relationships with key wine critics and influencers.

 

You will take responsibility for all press office coverage tracking and reporting with the support of the team to ensure all activity has clear measurement processes in place.

 

You will work closely with the social team to identify relevant influencers for us to work with to further amplify our activity.

 

About You

  • You will have a minimum 2-3 years PR experience in consumer PR – ideally with experience working within a consumer press office (agency or in house)

  • Excellent copywriting skills and ability to identify and create engaging product and news stories

  • Reporting and measurement experience
