Our Government and Defence Presales Engineer, located in the UK, will be an essential member of VIAVI’s EMEA Sales Team and work closely with VIAVI’s strategic customers and industry experts.
In this role, the Presales Engineer will provide technical and strategic leadership and be responsible for developing solutions to our customers' needs which will lead to overachievement of a defined territory quota. This individual will also perform a critical role throughout the entire customer lifecycle, including technical discovery, qualification, solution definition, demonstration, proof of concept, and automation project delivery.
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Subject Matter Expert, supporting our market leading RF Radio/Network and Electronic Warfare solutions.

Duties & Responsibilities:

 

  • Providing pre-sales technical support to customers through presentations, product demonstrations, training, and operation of our solutions.

  • Working closely with sales, partners, and industry solution teams to achieve yearly and quarterly quotas.

  • Assisting product management in assessing potential application of products to meet customer needs.

  • Ensuring that the product applications/solutions are functioning according to specifications.

  • Identifying and defining hardware and software defects, interfacing with development teams, and support resolution.

  • Assisting in writing product user manuals and application notes.

  • Provide technical support to VIAVI’s Technical Assistance teams.

Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:

  • Proven experience working with complex RF Radio, RF Networks and Electronic Warfare solutions.

  • Strong knowledge and background working with Critical Communication technology like TETRA, DMR and P25.

  • Knowledge of Tactical/Military and Broadband Cellular Communications networks and devices.

  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with high level technical and business managers at key customers.

  • An understanding of Electronic Warfare and threat simulations.

  • Knowledge of radar theory.

  • Problem-solving capabilities and ability to organize and present test data.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Self-starter, strong interpersonal skills, able to communicate easily and effectively with customers as well as within the organization.

  • Ability to obtain and hold a Secret Clearance.
