Job Description:

The Preload Team Leader (Saturday Only) is a critical part of the UPS management team, responsible for leading a small group of package handlers during the busy Saturday morning preload sort. This role focuses on ensuring efficient, safe, and accurate processing and loading of packages to meet delivery deadlines and uphold UPS's commitment to customer satisfaction. This position requires strong leadership, organisational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

What you'll need

  • Must be available to work Saturday early morning shifts, from 6 am to 10 am

  • Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role, preferably in a warehouse, logistics, or fast-paced operational environment, is highly preferred.

  • Experience in package handling or similar physical roles is beneficial.

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to clearly convey instructions and provide feedback.

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.

  • Capable of working in a physically demanding warehouse environment, which may involve standing, walking, bending, lifting, and carrying for extended periods.

What you'll do

  • Directly supervise and motivate a team of Package Handlers and Clerks during the Saturday preload shift.

  • Assign and prioritise workload for the team to ensure packages are sorted, scanned, and loaded accurately and efficiently.

  • Ensure all team members adhere to established safety protocols, company policies, and procedures at all times.

  • Oversee the daily operations of the preload department on Saturdays, ensuring all assigned duties are accomplished safely and timely.

  • Conduct and participate in group meetings to discuss performance, safety, and operational goals.

  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all documentation requirements.
