Who we are

The Trade Desk is changing the way global brands and their agencies advertise to audiences around the world. How? With a media-buying platform that empowers marketers to deliver a more insightful and relevant ad experience for consumers — and sets a new standard for global reach, accuracy, and transparency.

The public relations and communications team at The Trade Desk plays a vital role in elevating the company’s profile through compelling storytelling, high-impact media engagement, and strategic external events that resonate with key audiences. As a link between the organization and external audiences, the team partners collaboratively across the business to build strong relationships and advocacy across stakeholders.

What you’ll do

The Trade Desk is seeking an experienced strategic communications leader who will be responsible for setting the PR strategy in EMEA and elevating the company’s profile through impactful programs that amplify compelling narratives and drive media and external engagement.

This role requires proven experience within B2B communications – ideally within technology or digital media – with a proven track record of developing strategic communications programs, strong media relations strategy, strong relationship management skills and an ability to grasp complex issues in a technical environment. In addition, this role includes managing a direct report and PR agencies across EMEA.

The candidate should possess exceptional attention to detail, a penchant for working well under pressure, and have a deep passion for creating work with impact. This person should be a self-starter who thrives in fast-moving environments and can collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders across different regions and time zones.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and develop strategic PR plans across EMEA, building awareness of The Trade Desk and articulating the vision and value of the company
  • Drive proactive media coverage in support of The Trade Desk, including major trade publications and national business press, leveraging existing relationships and building new ones
  • Prepare and support executives for media interviews, external speaking engagements and opportunities for thought leadership
  • Manage and develop a direct report, providing mentorship, clear direction and opportunities for growth
  • Manage external PR agencies to ensure alignment on strategic, high-priority initiatives and an effective press calendar
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to manage executive communications and key events end-to-end
  • Support business and marketing leaders on the creation, development and execution of media and partner marketing strategies
  • Coordinate with EMEA marketing and global communications colleagues to ensure alignment on messaging, news releases, product launches, key events, and press interviews

Who you are

  • We are looking for a strategic thinker, sharp writer and seasoned media relations professional within B2B communications, ideally within technology or digital media
  • Experienced in shaping and leading complex, multi-market communications programs at scale
  • Demonstrated success in media strategy and relations, cultivating strong journalist relationships and driving high-impact coverage across business and trade press
  • Strong executive-presence skills, with the ability to advise, brief and influence senior stakeholders with confidence and clarity
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to connect tactical execution to broader strategic goals
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills, including data analysis, problem solving and attention to detail
  • A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach, particularly in fast-moving or ambiguous environments, across markets and diverse stakeholder groups
  • Experience working in information technology organizations, software, marketing technology, advertising technology, or knowledge of the data and technology businesses within the advertising industry are strongly preferred
