Role Overview
This position will be responsible for building and supporting the Microsoft Power Platform solutions that power Nano Fibre UK’s fibre-to-the-home rollout. We engineer and extend Power Apps, Dataverse schemas, Power Automate flows, Power Pages portals, Power BI dataflows—and integrate with SQL Server, Azure services and custom C# components—to equip our installation engineers, finance, H&S, fleet and storeroom teams, and customer service staff with the tools they need every day. As we mature our platform, you’ll help formalize our governance, CI/CD pipelines and API-driven integrations (including webhooks, custom connectors and RESTful services).

Role Overview
As a Power Platform Engineer, you’ll design, implement and support:

  • Power Apps (canvas & model-driven) for field data capture, inventory management and service requests
  • Dataverse tables, relationships, business rules and plugin logic (C#) to model installation, finance and compliance data
  • Power Automate flows (scheduled, instant and event-driven) with HTTP/Webhook triggers, custom connectors and API consumption
  • Power Pages portals and SharePoint Online integrations for internal dashboards and external service portals
  • Power BI reports, dataflows, DAX models and direct SQL Server/Azure Synapse queries for real-time operational analytics

Your work will ensure reliable data ingestion (via Power Query dataflows, Azure Data Factory or SSIS), robust automation between systems, and high-quality reporting—all while we establish best practices around environments, solution ALM (Azure DevOps/Git), security roles, and scalable solution patterns.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Solution Development & Integration
    • Architect, develop and deploy Power Apps solutions; extend with C# plugins and PCF controls.
    • Build Power Automate flows with HTTP/Webhook actions, custom connectors and Azure Functions.
    • Integrate Dataverse with SQL Server, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB or other third-party APIs.
  2. Reporting & Analytics
    • Develop Power BI dashboards and paginated reports; author dataflows with Power Query and T-SQL.
    • Optimize DAX measures and DirectQuery models against SQL Server/Azure Synapse for performance.
  3. Data Management & Quality
    • Design and govern Dataverse tables; enforce validation rules, business logic and data-quality alerts.
    • Implement ETL/ELT pipelines (Azure Data Factory, SSIS or Power Query) for installation, finance and fleet datasets.
  4. Governance & DevOps
    • Define environment strategy, ALM/CI-CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
    • Establish naming conventions, solution segmentation and version control best practices.
  5. Support & Continuous Improvement
    • Provide L2/L3 support for production applications, reports and automations; troubleshoot C# plugins or API errors.
    • Rapidly prototype POCs—e.g., custom Azure Function integrations or React-based web components—and iterate based on feedback.
  6. Collaboration & Enablement
    • Partner with operations teams to gather requirements and align on release cadences.
    • Conduct training sessions and demos; produce documentation, runbooks and code samples.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Hands-on expertise with Microsoft Power Platform: Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Pages, Power BI and Power Query.
  • Strong SQL Server (T-SQL) skills and familiarity with NoSQL/Dataverse concepts.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language: C#, JavaScript/TypeScript or Python.
  • Experience building custom connectors, Azure Functions, webhooks and REST API integrations.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to thrive in a growing, fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills & Certifications

  • Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Developer Associate or Solution Architect Expert.
  • Experience with Azure services: Functions, Logic Apps, Data Factory, App Service.
  • Familiarity with DevOps infrastructure as code (ARM/Bicep templates) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Prior work in utilities, field-service or remote-operations settings.

What We Offer

  • 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
  • Remote-first culture with flexible hours aligned to UK working times.
  • Professional development budget for certifications, training and conferences.
  • Hands-on impact: your solutions will directly enable our field teams and back-office staff.
