Job Description

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Power BI, data modelling, and visualization techniques, along with a solid understanding of SQL and data warehousing principles. They will collaborate closely with business stakeholders to transform data into actionable insights, ensuring that reporting solutions align with business objectives.

Power BI Development Responsibilities:

  • Develop, design, and optimize Power BI dashboards and reports based on business requirements.
  • Transform raw data into meaningful insights through data visualization techniques.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand reporting needs and deliver accurate, insightful reports.
  • Ensure Power BI solutions are user-friendly and accessible to business users.
  • Implement best practices in data visualization, including layout, drill-through, and interactivity.
  • Optimize Power BI performance by managing dataset sizes, DAX optimization, and query efficiency.
  • Maintain and enhance existing Power BI reports and dashboards as business needs evolve.

Data Engineering and Integration Responsibilities:

  • Work with data sources such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and cloud-based databases.
  • Develop and optimize SQL queries to extract, transform, and load data into Power BI.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity by implementing proper data validation techniques.
  • Collaborate with database administrators and data engineers to ensure efficient data pipelines.
  • Integrate Power BI reports with other business intelligence tools or platforms as needed.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Business Intelligence Strategy:

  • Act as a key point of contact for Power BI reporting needs within the organization.
  • Gather and analyse business requirements to define reporting objectives and KPIs.
  • Train and support business users in navigating and utilizing Power BI reports effectively.
  • Work closely with leadership to align Power BI solutions with business objectives.
  • Continuously assess and improve reporting solutions based on stakeholder feedback.

Qualifications

  • Expertise in Power BI, including data modelling, DAX, and dashboard design.
  • Strong SQL skills for querying and managing data sources.
  • Understanding of data warehousing principles and ETL processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and integrity.
