Power BI Developer

London/Hybrid

  • Opportunity for a motivated team player with Insurance experience and MGA knowledge (preferred)

  • Full-time position: 5 days a week Hybrid working

Role overview

Sitting within the international data analytics team, this new role will focus on developing our reporting offering across our offices. We are looking for an experienced professional, ideally from the insurance industry, who can proactively work with key business stakeholders to develop reports from various data sources which meet the business's needs. This role is essential to providing underwriting, claims, operations, data, bordereaux and IT teams with the insight it needs to drive the business forwards. The candidate will also work closely and collaboratively with DUAL UK, the Howden Group IT, and various IT project teams. The successful candidate should have experience working in a fast-paced, agile, dynamic environment.

Role responsibilities

  • Design and implementation of reports in Power BI.

  • Providing user-friendly reports and dashboards and continuously improve them.

  • .Proactively collaborate with the team of international data analysts

  • Error analysis and testing of data consistency and data quality, as well as corresponding documentation.

  • Contact person for user support (Operation requests).

Key requirements

  • Expert Power BI knowledge and Power BI Stack.

  • Highly skilled report and dashboard development.

  • Strong SQL skills (data extraction and enrichment using advanced functions).

  • Knowledge of ETL using a variety of data sources.

  • Able to interrogate, manipulate, cleanse and transform data.

  • Experience working in an agile manner using Azure Dev Ops.

  • Insurance or Reinsurance understanding.

  • Familiarity using Salesforce, specifically Industries and Financial Force is a plus though not essential.

  • Ability to work quickly, efficiently and methodically.

  • A strong team player who is confident in their ability.

  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to think strategically.

  • Proactively sharing 'what works best' with others across the organisation.

  • Actively listen to the views of colleagues and business leaders in order to derive new requirements from them.

  • Planning and organisational skills and the ability to set priorities.
