About the role
As a Portfolio Operations Manager, you are responsible for supporting the day-to-day management, servicing, and monitoring of the organization’s loan portfolio. This includes a wide range of activities such as conducting regular covenant testing, preparing and submitting compliance reports, managing loan restructures and extensions, overseeing redemptions, and closely monitoring arrears and collections processes.
In this role, you focus on the efficient and accurate execution of operational processes while ensuring positive outcomes for customers. You are also accountable for maintaining detailed, accurate, and up-to-date records within internal systems, ensuring all loan documentation, transactions, and reporting adhere to internal policies and regulatory requirements. Your work helps safeguard the integrity of the loan portfolio and supports the broader objectives of the organization by combining operational excellence with strong customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee servicing tasks across the full loan lifecycle, including variations, redemptions, extensions, restructures, and arrears, ensuring timely execution and supporting recovery efforts for non-performing loans with internal and external stakeholders.
- Conduct covenant testing and support compliance reporting to monitor borrower obligations and meet regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate records and workflows in internal systems, including nCino, monitor task completion against SLAs, and escalate issues when needed.
- Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, and Legal teams to ensure all servicing activities comply with policies and regulatory standards.
- Support process and system improvements to enhance efficiency and the customer experience.
- Follow all company policies, risk management, compliance, and financial crime obligations, and meet reporting requirements.consistently met.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in lending operations, ideally with exposure to portfolio servicing, arrears, or collections.
- Understanding of covenant monitoring, loan variations, and customer servicing.
- Experience in debt handling or collections is beneficial.
- Proficient in using internal systems to manage workflows and maintain records; familiarity with nCino is advantageous.
- Strong analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
