Opportunity to join the Asia-Pacific investment team at Pyrford International, a global investment boutique (part of Columbia Threadneedle Investments).
We are seeking a motivated equity analyst to progress quickly into a junior portfolio manager role, with responsibility for managing several country-specific equity portfolios in line with Pyrford's disciplined, long-term investment process.

How will you spend your time...

• Screening stocks for potential further research.

• Analysing company annual reports.

• Preparing for and attending company and sell-side analyst meetings.

• Formulating and presenting investment proposals for inclusion in portfolios.

• Updating the team on current holdings in the investment portfolios.

• Assisting in administrative tasks for the desk and the wider firm.

• Travelling to Asia on company meeting/research trips.

• Taking responsibility for the ESG (environmental, social and governance) considerations of investment decisions

This role would ideally suit an existing equity analyst or junior portfolio manager keen to take on more responsibility. The role would also suit an individual involved in the analysis of industry or company trends relevant to Asia equity markets.

To be successful in this role you will have...

•Prior experience working in financial markets and direct equity investing, ideally within asset management, investment banking or accounting.

• Be comfortable with excel and financial modelling

• An understanding of accounting and basic valuation techniques

• A genuine interest in Asian equities and long-term investing

• An understanding of what makes a successful investment

• An inquisitive nature with an attention to detail

• Willingness to take the initiative and be a self-starter

• Willingness to travel for the purposes of investment research

If you also had, it would be great...

• CFA or currently working towards Level 3
